Hello friends of Belgianwerkx –

Changes at Belgianwerkx (the bike shop) were bound to have an affect on Belgianwerkx (the bike team), and we’re ready to share some information.

Since 2013, Team Belgianwerkx has occupied a unique place in the local cycling scene. We’ve been serious without taking ourselves too seriously. We’ve organized many events that went exceptionally well and a few that went hilariously not so well. We’ve had riders win many races, series overalls, and State Championships, although it was never really all about that. Above all we’ve been a group that does things a little differently and had a pretty good run doing it.

So, what now?

We’ve decided to join with Serpentijn Art and Athletics to form Serpentijn Art and Athletics Cycling Team. Serpentijn (https://serpentijn.bike/pages/about-us) is an organization with an aim to improve the lives of children with a focus on creative output and athletic endeavors. As a team, our focus will be to increase awareness of Serpentijn and to support the cause financially via sponsorship and events.

We will be partnering with Cedar Creek Outdoors for all of our bicycle-related needs, as well as ETE Reman and Bill Kohler / Charles Schwab.

We’re forever grateful to the people of Belgianwerkx—Nick, Bill, Amber, and John—for bringing us all together through the shop and are excited to carry that spirit forward with Serpentijn Art and Athletics Cycling. Over the next couple months, we’ll be updating social media accounts for Serpentijn Art and Athletics Cycling Team, so stay tuned!
