Please join our efforts to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) from March 9 - May William loves hockey, and Ashlyn loves soccer.
Every day, William and Ashlyn wake-up and face the challenges of your average 12 and 9 year old. But unlike other kids, William and Ashlyn also balance their typical growing pains with the fight of their life. Both William and Ashlyn are battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Both dream of beating cancer -- It is my mission and dream to do everything I can to get them back to doing the things they
love. When I was nominated by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to participate in the “2017 Man and Woman of the Year” campaign, I needed to look no further than William and Ashlyn, the LLS Boy and Girl of the Year. During a 10-week period, I will “compete” with others across Central Pennsylvania to raise money to defeat blood cancers! Although we are competing, we are all working together in search for a cure. After learning that I was nominated as Man of the Year, I began speaking to people about this campaign and I was amazed at how many friends, neighbors and relatives have battled cancer. Raising money to defeat cancer is a goal that can unite all of us. Cancer has affected everyone, and while a cancer diagnosis is always devastating news, it is especially devastating when a child and their family have to face this unimaginable diagnosis. This year, the money we raise will be in honor of William and Ashlyn, heroes and spokespeople for thousands of patients who have been helped by LLS’s services and research. LLS blood cancer research has impacted treatments for numerous forms of cancer and other diseases. The awareness of this cause, brought forth by William and Ashlyn, will benefit thousands of people. I am excited to kick-off this campaign on March 9, 2017. And although this campaign is different than the one I usually run, this is the most important campaign I will ever run in my life. William, Ashlyn and thousands of others need your help. Join our efforts during this fundraising campaign.
