**New beginnings**

Thrilled to share the news that I've joined Saint Felix Distillery as Assistant Distiller and Customer Experience Manager.

Gin will always be special to me as it's given me so many opportunities, but now I get to delve into the world of other spirits with one of the best Australian distillers (and all round good bloke), Xavier Nalty as my teacher.

2024 is off to a cracking start!

Melbourne Royal's Australian Distilled Spirits Awards winners were announced last night. As a panel judge and a member of the competition advisory board it's one of my favourite competitions to be involved in (yes, I might be biased!). The quality of entries this year was incredible.

Congratulations to all who entered in particular Special Naught Gin who picked up the Champion Victorian Gin for the 3rd consecutive year, Puss and Mew Distillery who won Victorian Distiller of the Year, and Prohibition Liquor Co who were awarded Australian Distillery of the Year..

Imperial Measures Distilling were awarded a Certificate of Excellence for their Bold Gin. This is given to gins who receive a gold medal three years in a row.

Australian Distilled Spirits Awards 2023 Melbourne Royal has been running the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards since 2014 and it has become the most prestigious competition in Australia.

Featuring over 85 cocktail and prep recipes including syrups, liqueurs, shrubs, oxymels, ferments and tinctures, the book includes 50 full page colour cocktail photos taken throughout the seasons on location in The Gourmantic Garden.

Huge congratulations to Craig and Bec from Ginny Pig Distillery on their extraordinary achievement at the The Tasting Alliance San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Not only did they win 'Best in Class' for their London Dry gin, but they took out the award for "Best in Class' overall gin!

This is a fantastic result for the team who have only been operating for three years and another fine example of Australian gins showing the rest of the world how its done!

I'm finally able to properly share one of two projects that I've been working on to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of The Gin Queen.

The Majestic Martini is a collaboration with the award-winning . We've used Naught Gin Classic Dry Gin, Regal Rogue vermouth, a little olive brine and some Scrappy's bitters to create a slightly wet martini that is
designed to go straight from the freezer to your (chilled) glass.
