Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. In 1990, eight determined women at Northern Illinois University came together to form a bond like no other.

Happy Juneteenth!
June 19, 1865 marked the day that all enslaved people were now free, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
Today, we celebrate Juneteenth to honor African American history and culture while recognizing the ongoing struggle for equality and racial justice.
How are you celebrating today? 🖤💚❤️
Today, we are celebrating the incredible love and strength of our mothers, maternal figures and Mommy Chis everywhere. Zeta Sigma Chi sends you warm wishes for a joyful Mother’s Day! 💐🖤

Happy Lunar New Year!
Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is celebrated by many Asian nations and communities across the world. This includes China, North and South Korea, Vietnam and Singapore, and the global Asian diaspora. The holiday symbolizes a hopeful transition from the cold winter to the season of renewal.
Celebrations for Lunar New Year are determined by the phases of the moon. The holiday begins during the second new moon after the winter solstice, falling on different dates each year. The Chinese zodiac features 12 animals, each representing unique characteristics and symbolism.
2024 is the Year of the Dragon, signifying power, nobility, honor, luck, and success.
Let us know how you are celebrating this year!

November 1st marks the start of Native American Heritage Month (NAHM)- In which we recognize the rich histories, diverse cultures, and continuing contributions of Indigenous peoples.
———————-
NAHM dates back to 1990 when congress passed and president George H. W. Bush signed into law a joint resolution designating the month of November as the first National American Indian Heritage Month.

Keep an eye out for ways you can respectfully celebrate NAHM in November and year round.
Happy National first-generation day! Education is one of our guiding values as an organization. We salute all those who have paved the way for generations to come.
FGCC is celebrated annually on November 8 to commemorate the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965 by then-President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Are you a first-generation scholar? Comment 🖤🍑
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to one of our Founding Mothers, our Mommy Chi, Sandra De La Roca! We hope this year brings you more happiness, success, and countless memories! Thank you for all that you do and have done for our organization. 🍑🖤

Día De Los Mu***os also known as Day of the Dead, Spanish: is a holiday traditionally observed on November 1 and 2, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality.
It is widely celebrated in Mexico, where it the holiday was developed, and is also observed in other Hispanic/Latinx communities.
The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have passed away.
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to one of our Mommy Chi’s, Jacqueline Herrera Giron!
We thank you endlessly for brining the vision of what today is Zeta Sigma Chi, along with our 7 other Mommy Chi’s.
May this year bring you much success, health, and happiness.
Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
Indigenous Peoples' Day honors Native Americans, their resilience and their contributions to U.S. society in the face of generations of assimilation, discrimination and genocide.
Previously recognized as, Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day serves as a reminder and day of reflection of the ways in which native land and Native people have been colonized over time. Today and everyday, we encourage you all to reflect on the Native land that we stand on while moving forward to more recognition and celebration.
