And the final shots of the arrangement in its hanging frame. There will be glass on both sides but its easier to photograph without glass due to reflections. I have learnt a lot from doing this one, least of all that I should just put the process shots all in one post and not fill your inboxes...sorry about that. Still learning. I love this. I hope you do too.
Here is the flattened rose in the mock up stage on white paper, just so I can see where everything is going. I will be transferring it to a glass frame shortly with no paper behind. Any flower arrangers here with any advice on the layout will be very welcome.
Really pleased with myself here. Learning how to deconstruct flowers and press them, then reconstruct. These were from a bunch of flowers I was given for my birthday. Now to use them in a picture...hmmm...I now need someone to teach me how to do reels on this here instagram malarkey
I like to do a mock up of what I plan to put in a frame...what do you think?
So,I am not moving away from needlefelting but just adding more strings to my bow, and recently I have been learning how to dry and press flowers. Today it was microwaving leaves from my garden. This little lot took about 15 mins to dry, thats all. It's such a lot of fun and I can't wait to get started on using them in projects. I closed the car door on my finger on Tuesday so may have to wait a bit longer before I can do any detailed work .
A new addition to my shop. These are real flower laminated bookmarks. I love making these and will be adding more all the time. If you would like one in different colours just message me and I will see what I can do. https://gvalleycrafts.etsy.com
My range of wax seals are going well. This order of 70 wax seals with forget-me-nots are off to a lady preparing for her wedding. https://gvalleycrafts.etsy.com
New mouse alert ! This is Flora. She collects yellow roses and is absolutely adorable. https://gvalleycrafts.etsy.com flowers
Sally the Seamstress mouse all ready for her dressmaking skills to be tested. She has a basket with cotton reels, a sewing pattern and scissors, and a roll of fabric under one arm. Her tape measure is poised round her neck. Sally would also be happy just sat in a craft room watching all the exciting things being made so she is now in my Etsy shop GValleyCrafts.
William the weightlifter suddenly appeared on my Needle Felting mat last week. He is a bit of an old fashioned guy hence his tee shirt and shorts. I am sure he will keep on training while I get on with some other ideas. He is currently in my Etsy shop https://gvalleycrafts.etsy.com
Oh dear, I haven't got much done today because I have been playing with a new app.....incidentally this is my new mouse with a snowdrop. Funnily enough that is also his name 'Snowdrop'. https://gvalleycrafts.etsy.com
No rest for the wicked!!! Even while hurtling down the motorway I can make mice. They have been selling so fast lately that I need to take every opportunity to make more. I am not driving I hasten to add. We popped up to Liverpool for a few days to visit my daughter. # Liverpool
I saw a mouse.....where? There on the ....... Lots more meeces ready to be added to shop.
Had to smile sweetly to the postmaster today. This is today's post run. Thank you so much everyone.
Christmas shopping seems to be well under way.....here is another batch of Robin's in various stages of completion to go into my Etsy shop....GValleyCrafts.
So, this is what I finally made with the rope I dyed.....but then I went on to dye more rope in different colours and ended up making loads of bowls with coasters....I am a bit obsessed with them at the moment.
Having a day of dyeing cotton rope.....this lot is hanging out to dry and then I will be making trinket bowls. I'll let you see what they look like when I have finished.
