Maybe the greatest love story in the history of literature is the story of Francesco Petrarca, Italian poet and Laura. The question is: was it real love or just imagination of the artist? His most famous work was II Cansoniere, a collection of 366 poems, dedicated to one women with the name Laura. Biographies says that Laura may have been Laura the Noves, the wife of count Hugues de Sade. Petrarca saw her one day in the church and all his life he was impressed by her beauty.
