Guess what! We were all beginners one time. Here’s a throwback snap of CIB founder from 2012 on one of her first ventures into park skating. Gummy Wheels, derby skates and an expression that says “oh f*ck” and “f*ck yes” simultaneously. The point of the matter is, it’s hard being new at anything. We’ve done our best to take the guess work out of this uneasy time. Head to our website and check out the “Where To Start” tab on the menu. With the weather getting nice, we'll have a lot good skate days coming up. If you're just getting started, read this list of tips, grab your skates and start hitting the parks! Also keep your eyes peeled for CIB and other quad events!

10 things you should really know before taking it to the coping! – Chicks in Bowls For those of you who are still new to the bowl, knowing where to start can be tricky business. I’ve compiled my thoughts into a list of top tips. These are some of the things I wish I knew or was grateful to be told in my earlier days in the park. 

Hey Chicks! Do you live near a skatepark?? I bet you do, there are a lot in the area! A great way to accelerate your skating is to play the INTERNATIONAL GAME OF ROLLERSKATE! There are TWO beginner games that are still under 10 tricks - you can join the game already in progress (but you'll have to take 2 letters: S,K).
The tricks are all video linked in the game spreadsheet - an AMAZING source for trick vids and you'll find a ton of skaters to follow on IG. CHECK IT OUT. The weather is only getting nicer so let's get ready to SHRED this SPRING! https://www.facebook.com/groups/267989449956220/

Skatepark of Baltimore gets $465,000 upgrade -- 'our Christmas present' Stephanie Murdock wasn't surprised to see skateboarders dropping in at the Skatepark of Baltimore in Hampden on Christmas morning.

Carve Fest is next Sunday at Powhatan Springs Skatepark, but if anyone would like to preview the park we'll be out there tomorrow (11/13) around 11am.

Public Skaters Announcement: Gaithersburg Skate Park is only open weekends Noon - 7PM, through the end of October. That means three more weekends to work out a mini ramp and this itty bitty ramp. They also have a few verts and that concrete surface is smooth as silk!

They are at 510 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Helmets required. You have to fill out some papers but it is free.
