The history making Reggae Girls, who made it to the FIFA Women's World Cup knockout stage for the first time ever, are taking a stand against their federation. They are refusing to play for their country in upcoming international matches in response to 'constant mistreatment' and delayed payments from their federation.

The federation are still yet to pay the players their full WWC earnings. In a statement shared on social media by senior members of the 2023 World Cup squad, the players accused the JFF of β€œunprofessional communication”, saying that they only received information about their new head coach through social media and that any information about their staff is communicated unprofessionally and untimely.

β€œWe have dealt with this lack of communication, poor organization, poor management, and delayed payments from the JFF time and time again…For these reasons, we take our stance in solidarity with hope to end this cycle of mistreatment.”

β€œWith Love, Your Reggae Girlz.”
