Through the Lens Stories
Behind every photograph there is a story, every photograph is an image that creates a series of images and emotions in the viewer's mind. Michael B
I was nearing the end of a long bike ride, it was the first warm blue sky day that just begged for pedaling and speed, my 1968 Dawes Galaxy was chaffing at the bit. As I got close to home, I geared to cool down mode, easing up slowly, the blood still pumping— a favorite moment. As I pulled into the rails-to-trails parking lot, I noticed a a couple, sitting outside their camper, looking happily content, as the sun was setting behind the mountain.
It was one of those moments, — that one second or two when you decide to do something, or not. I could have just waved and kept going. I stopped. And stayed for a good 30 minutes. Sylvan and Martina turned out to be just delightful, interesting and engaging. They hail from Quebec, but a good part of the time they are on the road, traveling, bicycling and leading an active life style. On this trip they had visited 7 countries, and we had a grand time regaling stories and adventures.
Sometimes those on the spot decisions you make, turn out to be gold. In August, our small life long group of friends (12 of us— we meet somewhere and get together once a year)— this year it will be Montreal and Quebec. And there is a good chance we will see Sylvan and Martina once again.
A chance meeting on a bike ride.
