Vbabe's Nails
This is my page where I will put all of my nail art!
Hey all! I've got another oldie but goodie from Ethereal Lacquer (), from an old Sailor Moon themed mystery bag from 2021! This was from the Luna themed bag (I'm pretty sure) which featured polishes based on our favorite black kitty. Magic Cats is a black linear holographic polish with a real aggressive shimmer that shifts from blue to pinky-purple to orange at the extremes.
I am showing this in my normal studio lighting.
Hey all! I'm back with some more sharing of my from my own personal stash. I got this beauty from the Lollipop destash last year before they became . Blinder is a silver jelly polish with silver reflective glitters in it, giving it the appearance of something like the silver reflective clothing on high-vis vests! After seeing it in full reflective mode, I really don't have anything better to compare it to. The reflective photos are the last two~. For once, this polish is still available from what I can tell
I'm showing this in 3 full coats with a glitter smoother top coat before a final glossy top coat. I did notice it dried quite textured, which you can see in the video I will post next. Photos taken in my normal studio lighting, flash photos taken with a ring light.
Hey all! I'm back wih some more polish sharing from my own private stash. I've got one here from which I picked up during Lollipolish's huge destash sometime last year. Blinder is a silver jelly polish with silver reflective glitters in it, giving it the appearance of something like the silver reflective clothing on high-vis vests! After seeing it in full reflective mode, I really don't have anything better to compare it to.
Photos taken in my normal studio lighting. Flash photos taken using a ring light which activates the reflective glitter shine.
Hey all! I've got an from a brand that is wholly new to me but has been out in the indie world for a good long while. (Pahlish) released this as a Advent 2023 polish that I picked up as an overpour during last year's Black Friday. Purrfect Party is a glowy blurple polish that has a strong teal to blue to purple shimmer and an equally strong linear holo.
I'm showing this in 3 thin coats with the last few photos dedicated to showing off the various shifts in the glowy shimmer with my normal studio lighting. I found this one did the linear holo thing and also just dried down incredibly thin, starting to think maybe it's my body chemistry?
Hey all!! I've never really broken into this brand, but last Black Friday was the time that I just dove right in. I believe this was a mystery that I got from (Pahlish) that was from a mystery Advent offer in 2023. Purrfect Party is a glowy blurple polish that has a strong blue shimmer and an equally strong linear holo. This is another one that I just kept at my home desk for a while to stare at.
Hey all! I've got another oldie that I got in a Hella Mandmade Creations mystery bag sometime in the last year. This one is from March 2023 from (Cupcake Polish), What Dreams Are Made Of is a sheer silvery jelly base loaded with purple to green iridescent flakes, purple to blue to green shifting glitters and holographic flakes.
I am showing this in 3 thin coats, except I did what I always do with these flakie bomb type polishes, I sponged it on for my ring finger to see what those flakies look like when concentrated. I found that it brings out more of the purple for some reason where the normal brushed fingers appear to show more of the green. I'm showing the difference close up in my single finger macros and the last few photos show the drastic shift for the flakies.
Hey all! I've got another oldie here that has been sitting on my shelves, but I'm pretty sure I picked it up in an overpour mystery bag, so that makes it better? This is from Hella Handmade Creations March 2023 from (Cupcake Polish). What Dreams Are Made Of is a sheer silvery jelly base loaded with purple to green iridescent flakes, purple to blue to green shifting glitters and holographic flakes. Another one that I honestly just keep the bottle nearby when I'm stressed to sit and stare at it to mesmorize me into calming down.
Hey all! I have another very old polish here that I just haven't had the time to show off, but it deserves it! From (Bee's Knees Lacquer) What We Do in the Shadows mystery bag that was released in 2022 >.> The Formerly Fanged is a deep crimson with an interesting blood red tint, with large particle scattered holo that has a very jelly type feel to it. I really did love the effect that this polish has when built up and it had a very buttery type formula, as one expets from this brand.
I am showing this in 3 thin coats and I personally think that it needed it as it did go on a little thin, but that's a problem I seem to find with most straight up linear holo polishes. I'm showing this in my normal studio lighting~
Hey all! I've got another real oldie from (Bee's Knees Lacquer) from a What We Do in the Shadows mystery bag that was released in 2022 >.> The Formerly Fanged is a deep crimson with an interesting blood red tint, with large particle scattered holo that has a very jelly type feel to it.
Hey all! I've got a REALLY old from back when (Bee's Knees Lacquer) first started dabbling in reflective glitters, and released a bunch of these stunning monochrome type polishes. This is Sea God, a deep blurple jelly base filled with small sapphire reflective glitters that dance in the sunlight or any direct lighting. I loved this one, because it was an original daliance into reflective glitters it is THICK and is meant to be that way but also has a sort of jelly vibe to it as well which lends to the depth of the sparkles~
I've got this shown in 2 coats as it is just a very dark and good at depositing color. My second photo shows the comparison between normal studio lighting and flash/direct lighting. My last two photos show the polish exclusively in flash/direct lighting!
Hey all! I've got another REALLY old stunner from (Bee's Knees Lacquer), from back when they started dabbling in reflective glitters and it all started with the single color glitter and base combo. Sea God is a deep blurple jelly base filled with small sapphire reflective glitters that dance in the sunlight or any direct lighting. I'm showing the comparison of the normal lighting with direct lighting in the first photo and then every other photo shows normal vs the direct lighting where the reflective glitter shines.
Hey all! I'm showing a new to me brand and polish, Norther Lights from (Sizzlin Shades Nail Lacquer) is a GLOWING sea green/teal that has scattered holo glitters and a very strong metallic teal to blue to purple shimmer. Look at the colors just dance!
Hey all! I've got a new brand for me, I love using Black Friday to find new brands and polishes that I may not have known about or picked up otherwise. From (Sizzlin Shades Nail Lacquer), this is Northern Lights which is a GLOWING sea green/teal that has scattered holo glitters and a very strong metallic teal to blue to purple shift.
I have this shown in 3 thin coats and my normal studio lighting. I did my best to show the full range of the shift in the last 2 photos!
Hey all! I've got another here from a brand that was actually completely new to me! I always comb through Black Friday sales to find the best deals and it's usually my best way to break into different or new to me brands. From (Sizzlin Shades Nail Lacquer), this is Northern Lights which is a GLOWING sea green/teal that has scattered holo glitters and a very strong metallic teal to blue to purple shimmer.
Swatching 3 coats of Mars Power Makeup, a linear holo polish I got from a mystery bag haul from Ethereal Lacquer waaay back in 2022 >.> I've got a whole backlog coming up! Shown in my standard studio lighting
Hey all! I've got another here, this one was from a mystery bag that I got apparently sometime in 2022 (told you I am SLOWLY working through these 😅). From (Ethereal Lacquer), this is Mars Power Makeup from the Sailor Moon holo mystery bags. This is a pinkish, red linear holo with a slight golden shimmer. The linear holo is so strong and I loved how this polish just sort of glowed and radiated in the sun!
I am showing this in 3 thin coats, it did seem to suffer a little from what I find most linear holos have which is just being really thin on the nail. I'm showing this in my normal studio lighting!
Hey all! I've gone one here from a mystery bag that I think came out last year, but honestly could have been 2022. From (Ethereal Lacquer), this is Mars Power Makeup which is a gorgeous pinkish red linear holo with a bit of a golden shimmer to it! It has such a strong holo effect, and I loved trying to capture that shimmer in the bottle.
Hey all! I've got one of my most favorite untrieds here, from (Great Lakes Lacquer). The Centre Cannot Hold v2 , inspired by the poem The Second Coming by William Bulter Yeats, is a linear holographic multichrome with shifts of magenta, red, orange, gold, and green.
Hey all! I've got another untried here that has been sitting on my shelves for quite some time, just letting me admire it from afar. From (Great Lakes Lacquer), this is The Centre Cannot Hold v2 , inspired by the poem The Second Coming by William Bulter Yeats, is a linear holographic multichrome with shifts of magenta, red, orange, gold, and green. This was another one of the more magical polishes in my collection, I am such a sucker for ones that shift in multiple ways!
I'm showing all photos except 3&4 in my normal studio lighting to show off the holo goodness, I used a diffused light for photos 3&4 to show off the multichrome shift better. This is 3 thin coats to ensure an even distribution.
Hey all! I've got a fun new one for me, old for everyone else probably, from (Great Lakes Lacquer). I have to say, I think this one is even older than the latest Black Friday haul, I have been sitting on this absolutely beauty of a polish for some time! The Centre Cannot Hold v2 , inspired by the poem The Second Coming by William Bulter Yeats, is a linear holographic multichrome with shifts of magenta, red, orange, gold, and green. This is another one that I just could NOT stop moving the bottle around to watch it dance in the lighting.
Hey all! I've got another beauty from (Painted Polish), Moonlit Magic is an onyx blue scattered holo with crushed gold flakies and galaxy glitters for that extra sparkle! I absolutely love anything that resembles reflective glitter, and under certain lighting this little guy sparkles with the brightest purple. I think the 3 coats I show here give it the proper depth that this one deserves!
Hey all! I've got another untried here, I've been racking them up since Black Friday. This is one from (Painted Polish), Moonlit Magic which is an onyx blue scattered holo with crushed gold flakies and galaxy glitters for that extra sparkle! I absolutely love anything that has even a hint of reflective polish, so this one was just calling my name. Between the glitter and the purple, this was made for me.
I'm showing this in 3 thin coats. The glitter is thin enough that it doesn't need a glitter smoothing top coat. Photos 2,3 and 7 are all shown with either flash or a ring light to show off those reflective glitters, the rest are under my normal studio lighting.
Hey all! Another of my Black Friday hauls from (Painted Polish). You all know how I feel about anything with even a hint of reflective glitter, so it should be no surprise that I was drawn towards this one. Moonlit Magic is an onyx blue scattered holo with crushed gold flakies and galaxy glitters for that extra sparkle!
Pictures 2, 4,5 and 7 are all shown with flash/a ring light to show off the reflective glittery goodness. All others are in my normal studio lighting.
Hey all! I've got Icy Inkling from (Painted Polish) which features red, gold and turquoise metallic flakies in an inky blue jelly base! I loved watching the light just bounce off of the metallic flakies, it's a great contrast to the deep blue base. Because of the jelly base, I really liked the 3 coats as it creates a full depth whereas 2 had some patchyness that some may like but I personally don't.
Hey guys! I'm still chunking through my Black Friday haul (there are way too many) and I've got another one from (Painted Polish). Icy Inkling features red, gold and turquoise metallic flakies in an inky blue jelly base! I loved just twisting my fingies around and watching the light just bounce off of the metallic flakies, it's a great contrast to the deep blue base.
I'm showing this in 3 thin coats except for the ring finger, in which I did my staple move of sponging on the polish to see what just a crap ton of concentrated flakies looks like. I REALLY love how this one looks, it's like a little rainbow on the hand. I'm showing this in my normal studio lighting, using daylight bulbs.
Hey guys! I've got a beautiful flakie polish to show off here from (Painted Polish). Still chunking through that Black Friday haul, we might be doing this for a while. Icy Inkling features red, gold and turquoise metallic flakies in an inky blue jelly base! I loved watching the light just bounce off of the metallic flakies, it's a great contrast to the deep blue base.
Hey guys! This is His Friends Call Him Doc which is originally from the February 2022 and inspired by the holographic doctor on the Voyager from the episode "Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy!" In addition to that linear holo goodness, this polish has a jade/blue/purple/red/gold multi-chrome shift and a mix of added holographic flakes. I'm showing this in 3 coats, although it would be good in 2 and it blazes through the teal shimmer
Hey all! I've got another one from which has been a new brand to me.
I am showing this in 3 thin coats in my normal studio lighting (2 daylight bulb light sources) which highights the teal shift the most, showing the other shifts in more dramatic lighting. I found myself quite often just turning my hand around in any sort of lighting to watch the rainbows shimmer and the shift dance!
Hey all! I've got another one from which has been a new brand to me. I found that it tended to show the teal/jade shift the most and only went to gold in the most extreme light, but boy did I enjoy just turning this bottle around!
