It was a fun and crazy week at GHS! We had dress up days all week. On Wednesday, we had the biggest wrapping party in the history of Adopt-a-Family and on Thursday the First Annual GHS Family Dinner was a big success. We ended the week with a pep assembly. Last, but not least, we were off to the Salvation Army to deliver the Christmas Baskets for 20 Grandview families. Thank you to all the businesses and individuals that supported our project. A BIG Greyhound Thank you to Yellow Rose Nursery for donating rocks for our Rock Painting Activity for our Spread the Word to End the Word Week activities. Your support is greatly appreciated!!
We love it when one of our Greyhounds gets some recognition for being awesome. We know we have a lot amazing student leaders, but when an adult from another school bothers to send our Principal, Mr. Anderson, an email telling him how great one of our students is, we want everyone to know.
Our Unified Basketball team brought home a second place finish from the State Tournament and made a big impression on their competitors. Mr. Anderson received an email from a Lake Stevens staff member telling him:
"One kid really stood out to me throughout the whole tournament who embodied what Unified sports is all about. This particular student/athlete shared a profound sense of compassion toward the athletes from all of the teams, cultivated true teamwork among his own team, showed respect for both the values of Unified sports and the game of basketball and helped to make the experience fun for everyone...all with a huge smile on his face. I hate to say I don't even know his name, but I can tell you he wore the number 43 for your team from Grandview."
That student was Matthew Magana, a junior from GHS. Way to go Matthew!! You make us all proud!!
