With all the crazy stuff happening in this world , We are all looking for ways to keep ourselves relevant, Things like new jobs , new careers and in many cases , a complete change of life and location. I know for me it was a case of new location and try to make myself useful.
So where is this leading , Anyone who is thinking of the IT industry Must know English , but not just General level English , Industry specific English. You see, the further up the ladder you want to climb , the higher the level of English you will need to do so.
What about the many other careers that also require English??
Did you know that International Navigation , whether Land Sea or Air, English is the Standard language

Last week I was talking with a new student, and she asked "How hard is the Speaking test?" Good question, Subjective , but still a good question all the same. Ok , How hard is the speaking part??
Lets have a look at it ,
Part 1
Usually general type questions that are based around such topics as Work, Family, Study, Hobbies, and only require shorter type answers
Part 2
This is the one that catches most people , you have to talk for 2 minutes , AND here is the part where panic sets in.
So how to make it easier!! In the prompt , there are usaully3-4 points that you SHOULD mention. Ok , lets do some simple math
4 points divided by 2 minutes = 30 seconds per point , ok how many words per 30 seconds, the average is around 20- 30- words in that time period. Its so much more achievable when you break it down into smaller steps . Remember the rule K,I,S,S, Keep it simple Stupid ))
Part 3
This is where the examiner will ask you more complex questions , again they may be based on the Part 1 questions , but in this case , you will need to give a more detailed answer.

I advice ,,, Practise your Phrasal Verbs and collocations yes you can add in an idiom or two , but dont get carried away with them, in daily conversations , Phrasal Verbs are the most common, followed by Collocations , and then you may find an Idiom or two.

Hope this helps you and it will remove some of the fear or trepidation from the test itself
