Happy new year folks! Doing a rebel thing here by going against the general rule of "one post, one message" to give you a bunch of updates on stuff that either has happened or will happen soon(ish). But hey, we know you don't mind long, convoluted compositions of apocryphal messages, otherwise you wouldn't be here in the first place.
Since 2015 we have been working with Small Pond Recordings over two releases and a whole bunch of visits to the UK. This partnership has been one of the best things that happened to our band, but all good things come to an end. Last year Small Pond decided to pull the plug on label activities in the future to focus on other areas of their operation. Sad news indeed.
Looking on the bright side of this we get to keep the friendships and also get a convenient gentle push towards becoming a self-releasing band, which is something we've always romanticized. So without further ado, we present our own label Dream Bureau. All hail to Mads Ogstrup Nielsen for turning our dubious drafts into a neat logo.
We also have the first Dream Bureau release out now! It's a limited edition repress of the otherwise sold out Of Violence vinyl. Reprinted on lava colored vinyl and limited to 300 copies. We made these for our upcoming tour but have put some of them up for grabs on our new website. Cause yeah, we have a new website too (link in comments).
Looking a bit further ahead, we will also release our next album on Dream Bureau. It's not something that happens this year, but don't worry, we're working vigorously on new stuff and we're pretty excited about the outcome so far. I think we can safely say that early 2025 is a good estimate on a release date.
Lastly, we're just a month away from leaving for our first tour in forever. This time supporting Thrice for a bunch of shows. These are some of the biggest shows we've ever played, so needless to say it's an exciting way to restart the band. All shows are listed with ticket links on the new website mentioned earlier - again, link in comments.
If you got this far, bravo. Thanks for your continued interest in our band. We can't wait to share the new stuff with you! (but we have to)

Rapidly approaching our first string of shows in more than four years. Very honored to support Thrice on most of these dates but we also found time to do a few shows on our own while we're at it.
Poster by the talented Joscha Bauer.
One for the nerds. Does Town Portal play isorhythms? Heck if we know, but this guy does. If you're curious watch him dissect our song Vanitas and more specifically what goes on at the 00:36 mark.

DIY venues in Denmark are few and far between. During our 14 years existence as a band there have been three cities in Denmark that we could consistently play - something which is undoubtedly true for 80 % of the bands we listen to ourselves. If 1000Fryd in Aalborg dies, that would make it two cities and bring us one step closer to the complete division of this country into Copenhagen, Aarhus and "the rest". What a tremendous loss, and for what? Noise complaints from new neighbors to a venue with a 40 year long history as a cultural cornerstone in Aalborg. Get a grip.

FOMO ALERT! We found the last remaining box of 'Of Violence' LP's and they're going up for sale for Bandcamp Friday on October 6th, 2PM CET. If you include your shirt size in a message with your order, we will be extra kind to you and throw in a free shirt. We have limited sizes though and cannot guarantee availability.
We fu**ed this up the last time around with The Occident, so this time we triple counted and there are exactly 20 copies going up on Friday. Help us make these disappear so we can afford to make a new one.

Tickets are on sale now for the Thrice tour featuring yours truly as support (on all dates minus the UK). See below.
Honored to announce that we'll support Thrice on a string of shows in mainland Europe next year, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album The Artist in the Ambulance. Ticket sales start on Friday at 11am CET.
Relaunching Town Portal as a live band by playing some of the biggest venues we've ever played is just the right combination of scary and exhilarating - of course we couldn't turn that opportunity down.
We will be booking a few additional shows on the way between Copenhagen and Madrid and on the off days of the Thrice tour. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you want to book us. More detailed routing to come.
October 26th marks four years since our last show. We really don't want to make it five. Announcements due tomorrow.
Edit: sold out, thank you so much!
The remaining 21 copies are now on sale via our Bandcamp - use the link below:

The Occident, by Town Portal 8 track album
The Occident sold out on vinyl some years ago.... or so we thought. We just found 21 copies on a shelf in our rehearsal space that we're gonna put up for sale for Bandcamp Friday tomorrow at 9 AM CET. First come first serve.
Inventory (new band featuring Christian and Morten) is releasing their first single today! If you can imagine the mellower moments of town portal expanded to full songs, and you can also imagine Malik’s explosive beats replaced by a jazzier, slower motor, and you like what you’re imagining, you should probably check it out.
Full EP coming in march.

While you wait for new Town Portal tunes, you might wanna throw a like at Inventory ( on IG). A few familiar faces in that band, and who knows, maybe you'll like it. Music coming soon.

This photo was taken exactly 10 years ago. Malik and Christian are setting up for the release party for Chronopoly in a record store in central Copenhagen. The album anniversary was actually 8 days ago, but we completely forgot about it, so I thought it would be fitting to at least make a mention today.
We haven't been very active on social media the past few years and also not very active as a band. Some months ago we alluded to being at it again without elaborating much. Let's just say nothing crazy is happening in any foreseeable future but we are indeed writing music again and it feels great. So I think it's safe to say that in due time there will be another release party but we will probably look less boyish by then than in this photo from 10 years ago.
Thanks for listening
