Description: Join us for an easy 6 mile loop around Merrill Creek Reservoir. This private wildlife sanctuary is beautiful this time of year and if we are lucky we'll catch a glimpse of the snow geese. Distance: 6 milesDifficulty: Easy with mostly flat and rocky woods trails. Please dress with an extra layer just in the case the wind is blowing across the dams which drops the temp significantly.

Description: The Shades of Death trail starts off meandering along Hickory Run and is filled with huge groves of Rhodies. The stream cascades over a number of man made waterfalls (Stametz and CCC Dam) and passes through the camp grounds before heading down a woods road. We'll connect back up with Hickory Run for a while before crossing over the bridge to follow the trails up along the Lehigh Gorge for some great views of the Lehigh River below. Please bring good hiking boots and dress in layers based on the weather. Parking is allowed on both sides of the visitors center. Description: About the Park: Nestled away in the forests of 3,500-acre Bomoseen State Park sits the quiet camping area comprising Half Moon Pond State Park. Set in the dense woods of a small, sheltered basin, the park surrounds Half Moon Pond. The campground offers camping for all tastes with its waterfront campsites and lean-tos and five furnished cabins. For those seeking more creature comforts, Tall Timbers Cottage, with its waterfront location and private boat dock, offers all the amenities of home. A perfect place for campers seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life, the park offers a vast trail system including a short walk or, for the more ambitious, a full-day’s hike. Hikers are likely to see a variety of wildlife including white-tailed deer or an occasional moose. Rowboats, kayaks, canoes and pedal boats are available for rent from the park office, and two small, sandy beaches provide locations for sunbathing and swimming. The pond also has excellent fishing, where anglers can catch panfish, yellow perch and largemouth bass. Other exceptional fishing opportunities can be found at nearby Glen Lake and Lake Bomoseen. With sites both on the water's edge and back in the woods, the 52 tent/RV sites, 5 cabins and 11 lean-to sites provide great camping opportunities in a quiet, peaceful environment. Flush toilets, hot showers ($), and a dump station are provided. There are a play area and hiking trails to High Pond and to Bomoseen State Park. This is a camping only park and there are no day use opportunities. There is limited swimming, but great fishing and boating (no motors) in the pond (boat rentals available), as well as in other lakes and ponds nearby. Description: Our past river trips have been lots of fun and a great outdoor experience. We regularly see bald eagles, osprey and hawks cruising the Walpack Bend. The trip is at slow leisurely pace and includes a few stops to swim, grab some lunch and at least 1 water fight along the way! Join us for another great day on the water. Rentals are available or bring your own kayak (see below for reservations). Distance: 14 miles Paddle Time: 4.5 hours (it may take longer because of breaks for lunch and swimming). Put-in: Eshbacks Haul-out: Smithfield Beach I expect to be back in our cars by around 4:30 PM. The rates are as follows: - Kayaks: $44 per person (single or tandem*) - Portage: $21 (if you bring your own boat) Taxes will be added. *In order to reserve a tandem at least 1 person must be a strong experienced paddler. Please do not reserve a tandem if both paddlers are inexperienced. Each participant will need to make a reservation on his/her own for a rental or for portage. What: Hike at Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC)

Description: We will start off at the visitors center and head south past Pickerel Pond to the Tumbling Waters Trail. We'll hike down the steps to the water fall and then back up towards the visitor center where we will cross the road and head around the Fossil Trail loop. We'll follow the Ridgeline Trail back around to the visitors center for a total of 8 miles. Follow Route 209 North for approximately 3 miles and make a right turn at the light in Marshalls Creek. Continue North on Route 209 for 14 miles. You will see two signs for PEEC between mile marker 8 & 9 on Route 209. The first sign is 1/2-mile before the left turn and the second is directly across from the turn. Turn left onto Brisco Mt Road. When the road forks, bear right at the stop sign and PEEC will be on your right. The ability to hike across the Canyon is what makes the Rim to Rim so special, as you have the unique opportunity to experience both rims and everything in between. The Rim to Rim hike begins on the cooler, shaded North Rim where we hike down the North Kaibab Trail. We then meet up with Bright Angel Creek and hike along its shores to Cottonwood Campground, a stunning desert oasis for our first night. Our second campsite is the famous Bright Angel Campground, and on the hike there we'll take a side trip to Ribbon Falls, one of the Grand Canyon's most dramatic waterfalls. During the evening of the second day, we'll enjoy camping near Phantom Ranch and the Colorado River, before continuing our hike via the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Garden on the third day. Description: We will be planning a day trip to walk the Highline and have some fun in NYC. The High Line is an elevated freight rail line transformed into a one mile public park. After exiting the High Line lets walk over to Chelsea Market (9th & 15th). Browse through the market where we can warm up, eat, or decide on another place for lunch. If the day is nice we can also head down to the 911 museum if folks are feeling really adventurous. Let's meet at the ferry terminal at 9:30 and take a fun 8 minute ferry ride over to midtown. Walk the High Line up to Chelsea Market and have lunch. Walk the high line down with an optional visit to the WTC museum before taking the ferry back to Weehawkin. Please wear good shoes, dress for the weather and be prepared for lot's of walking! Description: • What we'll doStokes State Forest-The breathtaking and panoramic view from Sunrise Mountain along the Appalachian Trail rewards the hiker who has trekked up the steep side of the mountain. The view encompasses the pastoral farmland of New Jersey to the east and undeveloped forests and mountain ridges to the west. Stokes is famous for its impressive beauty, whether it is at the top of a mountain ridge or in the cool and fragrant Tillman Ravine with its rushing stream and steep cliffs. Hikers, campers, fishermen and photographers are attracted to its wild setting. This hike has a bit of everything including stream crossings, boulder fields, ascents, rocky woods trails and breathtaking views. We will take Swenson to Tinsley to the AT up to Sunrise Mntn. We'll take the AT back to the parking lot for a 9 mile loop. Length: 9 miles Duration: 4.5 hours Difficulty: Advanced- a bit of everything We'll meet at the Kittle Field parking lot at the end of Coursen Rd. for a 9:30 departure. Directions: Take Rt 206 to the Coursen Rd. entrance to Stokes State Forest. Follow Coursen Rd. to the end and turn left into the parking lot on Kittle Field.
