The Buck family is part of our community and a part of our hearts…Ben Buck is 15 and is fighting cancer. Scotty’s Burger Shack is making burgers between 12-4:00 and we decided to join them.. Such a great way to show exactly how community looks in our neck of the woods. Jake and Tracy crooked creek store owners jumped right in head first and are offering their delicious jelly filled donuts for this cause. Come on out tomorrow and get your hunger needs taken care. Huge shout out to generation church and enjoy life church and evolve church on the outstanding job for the men’s weekend conference. It’s actually really great to get back into a Godly setting. While the Simmelink family had been staying at RMHC Alberta, their farm made a very generous meal donation to the organization and we are grateful for their support to ensure all of the RMHC families had a Home for Dinner covered for the evening ❤️

Thank you to the Pro Saints 2013 Major Hockey Team and SANG!!!
The Team worked hard for their fundraising goals 😉and donated $2,500 to the Kids with Cancer Society. For every goal the team scored from November 16 until Christmas, SANG donated $100!!

The Kalev family spent time at RMHC Alberta while not only their little baby grew stronger, but they were able to lean on each other for support while they focused on their growing family.
Growing strong comes in many different ways and we are honoured to have provided a cozy and compassionate home away from home for the family.
We are open again both at Dave barr with skip dishes and of course in crooked creek
Scotty’s Burger Shack
Our Story is about Jesus, our Son, Our Daughters and our Marriage. When we first moved to Grande Prairie our marriage was rough we decided after a house fire to start over everything up in GP. Little did we know that 9 months later we would face another obstacle our Son was diagnosed with High Risk Leukemia at 6 years old. Yet through the most horrific words any parent can hear, “Your son has Cancer” we found two networks that kept our family together, The Kids With Cancer Society and The Ronald McDonald House. These networks create joy, laughter and some relief from the daunting task of childhood cancer. We had to give back.
Robyn was 7 months pregnant with our 3rd child when Jordan was diagnosed. We didn’t know what we were having but we knew 7 months prior to diagnosis that if it was a boy we would name him Joey and for a girl Hope. 2 months into heavy chemotherapy God delivered us our little Hope. Scotty went on Parents with Critically Ill Children leave, but when it was his time to return to work, he was let go and we had to move out of our house that was only for employees. Luckily the owner of the Crooked Creek Store suggested that we could run the Burger Shack for the season to get by.
We decided after many months living at the hospital and Ronald McDonald House that we had to give back and we created a fundraiser with an Amateur Boxing Event where Scotty boxed a police officer and we named it Fight For Hope where we raised 60,000 to split between the two charities. We then continued that theme of donations when we opened the Burger Shack with a dollar from every order going to each charity and raised $6000. Many customers also added to our Wall of Love with every notch being $1.
Once the season was done the Founder of the Crooked Creek location asked us if she built us a restaurant if we would stay and run it. Of course we said YES and 4 days later she got things moving and had our year round Burger Shack on location!
