Norangi visited the hospital today for his daily treatment. As we said before, he walked right into the carrier today. He seems to know the vets are helping him.

He has to go back again tomorrow. Norangi also needs to go to the hospital tomorrow for her treatment for her mouth.

Update on Chance - we visited him last night (Aug. 23, 2024)

Chance was still not eating. That may change today though - after a few Saya of IV fluid therapy.

He does not have any serious problem such as cancer, so that is good.

He has to stay in the hospital for a few more days.

Everyone, we really need help with his vet bills. The daily hospital bill for this 24-hour expert care is roughly between 200 and 250.00 USD.

We realize this is a lot of money. But Chance is getting the best care possible and these vets know him well. Plus the sooner he is well, the sooner he can leave.

Vianni's and Norangi's Vet Visit - Aug. 23, 2024

Vianni

Medical problems: mouth pain & upper respiratory problems, weight loss, not eating much

Test- total physical exam, including a mouth check

Results:

1. Mouth is in very bad condition
2. Breathing is not good.
3. Body temperature a tiny bit high
4. Has lost weight

Treatment

1. Convenia injection
2. Nebulizer treatment
3. Injections for mouth pain

Follow-up

We have been told to take Vianni to the hospital every other day for treatment for her mouth.

Norangi

Taken in to get treated for his mouth pain, which is working!
He has to vist the hospital every day for a few days - until his mouth is better.

UPDATE on CHANCE - Aug. 23, 2024
We talked to Chance's main vet this morning.

Yesterday's Blood Test Results:

- no anemia (Good!)
- no Diabetes (Good!)
- elevated Creatinine (one kidney level)
- inflammation level was above the normal range, indicating inflammation somewhere in his body

Sonogram Results

- no evidence of Pancreatitis or Enteritis
- slight change in his kidneys (CKD)
- Gastritis

TODAY - AUG 23, 2024

Today, Chance vomited twice and when he defected, the vet noticed that his f***s was not normal. The vet said this was strange.

- Inflammation level is hiigher today.
This could be the peak or thr beginning of something like Enteritis or Pancratotis.

- not eating

The vet said there is no definite diagnosis at the moment. It could be Gastritis or his CKD may be the main problem.

The vet thought that Chance would have to stay in the hospital for one or two days. But since Chance is still not eating and still vomiting, he has to stay longer - for another few days.

Everybody, we need a lot of help with Chance's vet bills. The daily hospital cost is roughly 200.00 USD. But with more tests, it will be higher. We will ask the vet how much he thinks it will be every day as we are not sure.

The good news is that once Chance is treated and is doing better, then he can be discharged. He Iisnot in critical condition!

Norangi still has severe mouth pain. He was doing WELL on his treatments. But he needs to go back to the hospital.

Due to mouth problems and possible past trauma-related issues and possibly brain damage. His vet hinted before that Norangi may have this as he seems to protect his head whenever the vets approach him. He is the same with us.

Also, he won't take any medicine in his food. And we cannot use a pill gun nor can we syringe feed Norangi.

She needs to go to the hospital too. Her respiratory problem is back. Her Mouth may be bothering her too.

Around two weeks ago, Vianni received a long-acting antibiotic injection. She will definitely need another one. She will also need injections for her mouth pain and possible inflammation in her mouth.

URGENT‼️‼️‼️ We need to get Chance to the hospital today as he has stopped eating and drinking and seems depressed.

He will need to have a blood test and possibly a sonogram and x-rays. He also needs treatment. He may need to be hospitalized.

NOTE: WE HAVE NO FUNDS LEFT‼️

We are not sure how much money will be needed for his tests and treatment. We estimate that around 300 USD will be needed. Hospitalization will cost st least 200.00 USD a day.

We have come so far with Chance. He is happy here and until yesterday, he had been doing well and without medication.

The average lifespan of an intact male cat is 2-5 very difficult years. If neutered, they can live 10 years or more.

We often hear, “It’s just a male cat.”

It’s just as important to TNR the male - both to prevent injuries and the spread of disease but also to prevent many, many kittens.

Don’t turn a blind eye to the tom cats in your neighborhood. They need your help, too.
