After a couple of amazing months away on tour, I am excited to bring it home for a night of music with the super talented Esa.
We have wanted to do something together for some time and it is finally happening. Where better to do it than 10 floors over London at Sweeties at where we’ll be playing all night?!!
9th December. 2200 - 0300
Entrance is free via the guestlist. DM your name to reserve your space on the dancefloor.
Really happy to see the record now getting around the world.
Here is Alex Boyesen, the producer of Sam’s ‘Life’ with his copy in his listening room all the way over in Chang Mai, Thailand where he now lives and works.
Back in my favourite Paris and feeling honoured to be part of a special one-off party also with focussing on the broad sounds of the UK.
Playing 3 times during the party - once at the opening, the middle and the end so I’ll be flexing the tempos.
Here’s 3 from I’ve brought with me:
Zulu - Crying My Heart Out - heartfelt lovers rock on the short lived label Leo.
Foolish & Sly - Come A Little Closer - used to hear this a lot when I first moved to London. Silky UK house classic.
DJ Trax - White Label - this one isn’t online but it’s 🥵 don’t get to play at this speed usually so I’m happy I’ll get to cut loose.
Eyes on the prize this weekend for my Swiss debut.

Let’s do this!
A huge part of the enjoyment of putting together the For The Love of You and Just A Touch compilations has come from getting to know the artists behind the music.
After speaking online with Anthony Brightley for some time, I finally had the pleasure of meeting him for coffee back in 2021 when he was over in London visiting from his home base in Antigua. From first impression, it was evident that I was dealing with a sharp character that was on top of his business, yet everything was said with a kind smile.
Then and there he invited me to visit him in Antigua, and so was his persuasive nature that I actually went and did just that. Three months after our first meeting in Hackney, we were eating the most beautiful ital food and joking with the locals at his favourite restaurant on the edges of St John.
Anthony’s list of outlets for his creativity over the years is astonishing, having owned successful clubs, run labels, soundsystems, pressing plants and this is only the list of his ventures within music! While largely known as a reggae producer, he is never one to be pigeonholed and after making a reggae track, he would often create a soul version alongside it, and press it on the same 12.
The first single from Just A Touch, ‘What You Do For Me’ is a production that showcases that diversity and features the full weight of Anthony’s talents. A hefty slice of uptempo street soul from Mr ‘Pure Silk’ that has regularly featured in my sets since discovering it several years back.
Grab it digitally this Friday 29th September.
The second single from Just A Touch coming 6th October 👀
Summer, you’ve been good to me! Last gig tonight at the stunning before the readjustment to Autumn. But with it brings some pretty exciting news which I can announce in the next few days and some new tour dates to coincide.

Last month I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Joe Osbourne on who compiled one of my favourite releases from this year, Hidden Waters: Strange and Sublime Sounds of Rio de Janeiro
Joe’s depth of knowledge of music and curatorial skills show a true connection to these sounds and the background to which they were created. The music is as alluring as the album cover and I urge you to check it out.
I started the show playing a selection of Brazilian classics, before moving into some of my favourite modern artists and then interviewing Joe. Around 1 hour in, he takes over, going much deeper and exposing the full range of music coming out of modern Rio.
2 radio shows in a week going live? Why not! Thanks again to Joe and

Summer been passing me by and so only just getting round to posting last month’s Free Association ☀️🌅
Solo runnings this time, playing a mix of new and old and some FA classics.
Took it quite deep and electronic later on playing recent and as well as early-mid 90s bits from Musk Men, and an older project, Leveller. Swipe left for the tracklist 📝
One of my best shows, but I’ll let you judge

Thanks again to brother Mr for having us for another year and to the 100 dedicated that danced through the rain and into the night with us at Hwk London.

Stepping into Summmer!
Making my Helsinki debut tomorrow night at the amazing headlining the new Dazzle night.
Was pretty amazed by this city, it’s architecture and the cooling post-sauna sea swim back in October so I’m hyped to return.
Last year, invited me to play at their Hackney Wick takeover and it was one of the best days of the Summer. This year, they’ve invited me back to host my own Free Association area alongside our Scottish buddies from and the whole thing is just ridiculous!
Uniting a group of likeminded musical clans, they are taking over the full stretch of Hackney wick and setting up 11 stages for us to go wild in. Welcome to Multi Multi 🪄
Joining our area will be with myself and rounding things off.
So many other friends from London, the UK and across the world on the buttons for this one.
Join us too.
Tickets on RA now 🎟️
Just as London plunged back into winter, I put together a selection of music from warmer climes to lift the mood and take us into brighter days, direct from the box.
That mix is now online in the usual places

If my voice is a bit strained, I found out that our dear grandpa had passed as I was preparing the show that morning. So this one is a tribute to him!

As 2022 draws to a close, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to anyone that booked me, checked out my radio show, listened to a mix or bought my comp.
Getting to play music is a blessing, but it is the people I meet through it which is the absolute joy.
This year, these were people in my home country and around Europe and Asia that I know will be friends for many years to come.
An (early) happy new year to all. Let’s go 2023!
Much love

For all those who missed out on For The Love of You 2…. it’s reboot time!
We were duped on one of the previous licenses, so I wanted to make it better. 2.1 features a track I signed back in 2019 which didn’t have a home and it works perfectly.
New cover, better tracklist, out now.
Honoured to have been given the call up and the chance to push the tempos right at the end of the year.

The 5th birthday of the Free Association show was full of joy but also came with a feeling of sadness, as after 5 years and over 60 shows, I am leaving
The station was set up by a small and passionate team and has become world recognised, whilst first and foremost remaining a hub for the local Hackney music community. I am happy to have been there since the beginning to watch this growth, and have loved checking out the shows on either side of mine ( shouts to Planet Panama and more recently, the future torch bearers .select ).
Huge respect to Miro for his gargantuan efforts with Netil and for welcoming me all that time back.
My last session on the station was an eyes-down and cathartic affair of a lot of new music. For this reason I have created another tracklist to give the artists some shine (scroll right)
Thanks to everyone who has tuned in over the last 5 years, for the friendships I have made, to anyone that reached out for a track ID or to book me for an event. This show started as a way of creating a personal musical diary and has become so much more. I am really grateful for it.
However it isn’t all sad news, as on 14th August I will be starting a new monthly show on 2pm – 4pm GMT. Here’s to the next 5 years.
A final THANK YOU to every guest that sent a guest mix or came and played records in the studio. Your contributions added so much to the show. Anyone I have missed, well I owe you a drink

Was super stoked when Japan’s legendary Jazzy Sport got in touch recently wanting to collaborate in creating merchandise for the For The Love of You compilations.
A big fan of the shop from my time living in Japan, these are now on pre-order and will be available from Jazzy Sport Kyoto in-store and online.
Just in time for the Summer season, we’ll have shirts available in the UK too (more details as they come).
Also, to those that have asked, the FTLOY2 repress *finally* drops 28th May.
