I just noticed one of my orders is quite literally shipping to North Pole (the city) this week and that made me happy. 🎅🧑‍🎄

It’s that time of year again! Each December we try to spread some holiday cheer by featuring your festive pets. We love your adorable photos and can’t thank you enough for sharing with us! It really makes our day, and we hope it makes yours too!

They keep knocking the ornaments off the tree so I put an ornament on them. 😂 Feeling festive and experimenting with a few new ideas.

A feline rescue in Seattle that we’ve worked with before is looking for blankets for their adoptable rescue kitties. A 2x2’ blanket is really fast and easy to make with any C2C (corner to corner) or solid granny square pattern. I work these for our own cats, our vet, and our local street cats with two strands of yarn: one puffy for softness and warmth and one basic saver/acrylic for durability. With 2 strands of yarn and a 6mm hook you’ll be done super fast and our kitties love the results. 🙂 If anyone needs more tips or a pattern, let me know.

Calling all crafters: we're running out of blankets, and the kitties need help staying cozy! 🐱🧶

When they arrive, each rescued cat gets their own blanket to comfort them. Then, when it's their happy adoption day, the blanket (and its reassuring, familiar scent) goes with them to their new home. As we get ready to take in more kitties, we're going to need more blankets!

2 foot X 2 foot is the optimal size, as it fits well into enclosures and carriers... Blankets can be fleece, felted, crocheted, sewn.... The kitties will appreciate your handiwork whatever materials you prefer!

Several people have been asking how we’re doing here in light of current global tensions, so I thought I’d post that life here is business as usual. Prices have fluctuated a bit more in recent times but daily life is the same. The one big exception is we can’t ship to Australia/New Zealand via the postal service at the moment unless we use private couriers, we’ll update you when conditions change.

In the meantime, we’ve also been asked by a few people how to support causes in Ukraine. Personally, I’ve supported small businesses by buying digital items from Ukrainian shops on Etsy, like this image from natalibrooches. Due to conditions and flight limitations, they are unable to conduct business as usual. Business and financials aside, we can only imagine the hardships they are going through. We’re happy to provide additional links if you’re interested, there are some highly talented crafters you can support directly.

Also my full time employer has a link to 501c approved causes, if anyone would like them, just let me know and I’ll post in the comments.

I don’t like to spam your profile with links - we get enough of that on Facebook already these days - and I don’t like to involve myself in politics. But we’ve been hearing voices of concern from a lot of generous people recently, have friends in nearby Poland, and coworkers who lost homes in Ukraine. So I wanted to take a moment to post on the matter.

For the sake of transparency, I’m not personally collecting any funds for Ukraine, but if you’d like more info on legitimate sources to donate, let me know and I’ll share in the comments.
