Did you know ⁉️ Hypertension affects about 1.2 billion people and kills more than 11 million people around the world!

😓 But, only 1 out of 2 people with hypertension know they have it, as the disease often has no warning signs or symptoms. To manage the condition you need to understand the illness:
👉 Hypertension is linked to Blood Pressure (BP): over time and with age, blood pressure rises.
👉High BP pressure causes hypertension. When you have high BP pressure, your heart has to work harder to ensure the flow of blood around your body, and it can gradually weaken your heart and damage artery walls.
👉This situation can increase the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases like stroke, heart disease, and heart failure.

Because of its serious health consequences, hypertension is the #1 risk factor for death. Last but definitely not least. Get regularly from the age of 40. It’s the only way to know if you have hypertension, as it is a silent disease.

👨‍⚕️Talk to your doctor to know more about it and take care of your health today. 🙏

Constant stress can be detrimental to your health. 🤯With normal stress levels, good quality sleep should be able to restore energy levels and emotional reserves. It’s recommended that healthy adults get 7 - 8 hours’ sleep 💤 a night. ⏰ Too little sleep is associated with weight gain and obesity, inflammation, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even death. Insomnia and too little sleep are also risk factors for heart disease. 💓

Our Story

This global awareness campaign, was launched to put the spotlight on increasing access to blood pressure screening as potentially the most effective way to reduce the adverse toll on health of hypertension (high blood pressure).

Each year 10 million lives are needlessly lost each year due to complications related to high blood pressure.

In 2017 volunteers in more than 100 countries screened people in cities, towns, and villages as part of one of the biggest public screening exercises the world has ever seen. The scientific data that we are collecting from these screenings will help us in our mission to reduce the burden of diseases associated with hypertension.

Next stop: May Measurement Month 2021. We plan to build on the success of the 2018 and 2019 campaigns and make a difference to even more people.
