I got a call 9:30 PM. Last night. Another Captain canceled because their boat broke down. Odd story. The captains boat was broke down for a day and a half and he waited till the last minute to cancel with these people. Morally I can’t do that. Turned into an excellent charter. 8 miles dolphins are biting. First time I’ve seen dolphin this close. There is so much bait offshore that the pelagic are moving closer. Those Spanish mackerel were smashing it today. Hook up ratio was better than usual. Use a number three Beek hook. 30 pound or 40 pound fluorocarbon leader. Cut up green backs and thread fins. Started the day out getting bit by a triggerfish. Then finish the day loading my boat offset. Could’ve swore I was lined up right. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 so moving on from that. It was a successful day overall. The Spanish mackerel bite was on fire. Those huge, mangrove snapper‘s are biting really good. It seems like in between the half moon and the full moon phase. The reef bite has been good.
