My name is Samantha Noorlander. I did my massage training, relaxation,- sportsmassages and massages at dogs with physical,- and behavioral problems, at Kynomassage in Dorst. In the future, my knowledge will grow, by education/seminars/etc., as this is requiered by the professional association "Palpabel". Massages
Talking about massages, people always seem to think about relaxation. True, but massages can do a lot more. For example, massages are very usefull to support the dog when seeing a behavioral therapist. But also supports the dog with his physical problems such as hip dysplasia and arthrotis, age complaints or support while recovering from traumas like fractures. Both for the healthy dog, as for the dog with behavioral,- and/or physical problems, massage can be a great solution. With massage, you support the dog as well as his body. Massage is no replacement for a specialist (veterinarian, physical therapist, etc.), but is a great complement to your dog's health and function. What does massage do, for example:
- massage stimulates blood,- and lymph circulation, so waste materials can leave the body faster. This means oxygen and nutrients have the chance to return to the tissues, which has a positve effect on the joint function and makes muscle tissue healthier.
- release of hormones, that will give peace to the mind.
- overall relaxation, so there will be more balance between the body and the mind.
- lowering bloodpressure, and with that a positive effect on the heart function
- by massaging regularly, you create a new generation of bloodcells, which keeps the resistance of the dog on a higher level.
- you can create pain relief
- there will be more body awareness and a higher level of concentration
- you will recognize points of attention a lot faster, so you will be able to take action faster (to see a specialist or get the dog the rest he needs)
- there will be a better relationship between the dog and the owner, because of the conscious contact. What does sports massage do:
The purpose of sportsmassage, is maintenance of the muscles. By using a warming-up, muscles will be activated, and the dog will, both physically as mentally, be prepared for the (sports) activity. The risk at injuries will be reduced this way. After an activity, muscles will be full off waste materials, and the body has to recover. Next to walking out the dog, a cooling down will a great support for the recovery. Besides that, sports massage can also maintain the bodies condition, during periods with less activity. When do we not massage or dog:
- fever, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, persistent diarrhea
- herniated neck/back, we do not massage the complete vertebral column
- cancer
- vaccinations, we wait 10 days form the moment of vaccinating
- medication, depending on several factors
- skin diseases
- serious problems with the organs
I you want your dog to receive a massage from me, that's also possible of course. Just keep in mind, not every dog can receive a full massage the first time. Some dogs fall a sleep the first session, other dogs need a couple of sessions to create the same result. Depending on the state of mind of the dog (like a high level of stress), I might end up just consciously touching the dog. This can happen when the dog is over excited or perhaps anxious. With consciously touching, we teach the dog, using soft touches, to accept touches all over the body. These touches also affect the body. Massage sessions, private,- and group workshops, will take place at your home or at another location of your choice, like a dogschool for example. Do you work with dogs professionally (dogtrainer, veterinarian, dog trimmer), you can always contact me for a workshop matching your profession. This way you are able to positively affect the state of mind of the dog, using simple massage technics, while you working with the dog. There are several workshops, and still a couple in prgress. Groupworkshops have a minimum of 4, and a maximum of 6 participants with their dog, and taken on average of about 2,5 hours. Next to this group, it's possible to include 1 or 2 people extra without a dog. Participants without a dog, pay a special rate. Private workshops take on average of about 1,5 / 2 hours. With every workshop or massage session, it all depends on what the dog can receive. I always work in the dog's best interest. The first 10 kilometers (and return) are free, starting from my home address. Over 10 kilometers, €0,19 is charged for every extra kilometer. Terms and conditions
When you decide to participate to one of the activities, the terms and conditions apply. These are linked to the invoice and will be send to you together.
