Happy Boxing Day!
As I try and do every year, I thought it would be germane to today's holiday to post some of my favourite Boxing "shots" from this year's boxing which I've covered.
A very difficult task as I shot quite a few tournaments, along with all the press conferences and weigh ins, but I narrowed them down to these photos.
I would be remiss if I didn't thank all the phenomenal boxers and their trainers and managers, the passionate promoters, the dedicated officials from BSA, the other photographers and members of the media and of course all of the spectators for the wonderful opportunities for me to do what I do.
Together, we all make boxing happen and make it possible.
Thank you to everyone that makes a difference in boxing.
Boxing and photography are part of my very being and I look forward to bringing you many more photos, memories and results from forthcoming tournaments next year.
All of these photos, taken in South Africa, make me so incredibly proud to be South African, as we have so much talent to show...
All of these photos were taken with a Canon 1DX, as well as an old Sigma 24-70 2.8.
Have a great Festive Season, and if you're traveling, travel safely!
Happy Boxing Day!
As I try and do every year, I thought it would be germane to today's holiday to post some of my favourite Boxing "shots" from this year's boxing which I've covered.
This year was very different to previous years because of the current pandemic.
I only managed to cover 3 tournaments in 2020, when during the course of a normal year, I would cover between 30 and 40 tournaments. The state of the world is upside down and bizarre, however, the very nature of boxing is to fight, and I know that boxing will come back and continue going forward.
Fighting through difficulties is in our blood. Something that we are born with, and something that no one can take away from us. I salute all the boxers that have managed to be active this year, and I salute all the boxers that stayed fit and ready despite not having an opportunity to fight. This is merely a hurdle in the greater scheme of things. Keep fit, stay sharp, and stay ready. You never know what your future holds. You got this...
I would be remiss if I didn't thank all the phenomenal boxers and their trainers and managers, the passionate promoters, the dedicated officials from BSA, the other photographers and members of the media, and of course all the fans watching from home. Boxing continues because of pure passion and love for the magnificent Sweet Science.
Together, we all make boxing happen and make it possible.
