DING-A-LING PICTURE SENT BY SHERIFF BERLIN TO INVESTIGATION GROUP A, "joke"
Sheriff Berlin has finally cleared up questions regarding the ding-a-ling picture he sent to over twenty male and female deputies in a Jones County Sheriff's Office text message group. Berlin said, "It was a post to our investigation group as a joke."

FORMER JONES COUNTY RESERVE DEPUTY INDICTED/RE-ARRESTED FOR MURDER IN THE ROCK CHURCH DEATH OF COREY DONALD.
Former Jones County Reserve Deputy Geoge "Ryan" Walters has been indicted by a Jones County Grand Jury on 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault in the death of Corey Donald. Donald was attending church at The Rock Church when he was approached by Walters in the parking lot. According to an eye witness who spoke to HPNM, Donald was shot in the back as he ran from Walters.
After Walters' arrest, an MBI investigator testified that Walters struck Donald in the face with his fist and Donald began to run from Walters. Walters then shot Donald in the back, pursued him to the back of the church, and kicked him in the head. The entire incident was captured on the church's surveillance video.
Sheriff Berlin initially made statements to the media that Donald went for Walters' gun, but that was contradicted by MBI testimony about the video in court.
Walters will appear before a judge within 48 hours of booking for a review and possible revision of his current bond as well as a bond on the new, aggrevated assault charge. Judge Grant Hedgepath gave Walters a $50,000 bond at the time of his arrest.
HPNM was at the Justice Court hearing where Walters collapsed and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital. See that video below.

$100,000 BOND: FORREST COUNTY CIRCUIT CLERK CANDIDATE DAVID BRELAND ARRESTED FOR HIT-AND-RUN.
HPD MEDIA RELEASE:
On Friday, May 5, 2023, the Hattiesburg Police arrested and charged an individual responsible for a hit-and-run accident from Friday, April 28, 2023.
David Breland, 27, of Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing serious injury or disfigurement.
It was previously reported that officers responded on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at approximately 6:45 a.m., to a report of a pedestrian that was struck by an unknown vehicle around the South 17th Avenue and Camp Street intersection.
When officers arrived, they found a black male suffering from injuries on the side of the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital by AAA.
Throughout the investigation, it was determined that Breland hit the victim at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2023.
Breland was booked in the Forrest County Jail.
Well, someone has some splainin' to do.
