Early underground warehouse events from 1989 to 1995 included ‘Drama’ ‘Deep Joy’ ‘Eternity’ and M25’s to name but a few. As the popularity of electronic dance music in the warehouse party scene became harder edge techno in genre the UME crew set up ‘Bounce’ a Sunday night House music orientated club night in a Sydney Kings Cross live band venue providing a welcome and more stylish respite from the techno onslaught. Bounce soon became a Sunday night must go to club night for discerning House music lovers and eventually paved the way for the legendary Saturday night club night ‘DeLiCiOuS’ and Thursdays nights ‘High Times’, with 'Up For It!' happening on Sundays any time there was a Monday public holiday. Over the five years these three nights were in operation, we helped launch a number of local DJ careers, produced 3 compilation CDs and introduced Sydney to many underground House tunes we now think of as ‘anthems’. DeLiCiOuS brought over some of the world’s finest House DJ Producers: Danny Rampling, Terry Farley, Pete Heller, Rob Tissera, Ashley Beedle, Sure is Pure - Kelvin Andrews, Mark Lovedup, Claude Young Jr, and Nicky Holloway to name a few. These nights well and truly helped put Sydney on the map as one of the world’s premier clubbing destinations, delivering upfront house music to a crowd that couldn’t get enough - where the music you liked was more important than who you were, or what you wore. After a 17 year break, the Underground Music Events crew is back promoting 'Up For It! - Classic House, Anthems and Forgotten Gems'.
