Commemorating Labor Day!
As we celebrate Labor Day, I want to take a moment to recognize the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our incredible staff across Hyde County Schools. Every day, our teachers, administrators, support staff, nutrition staff, maintenance and janitorial staff as well as bus drivers go above and beyond to ensure our students receive the highest quality education and support. Your tireless efforts are the foundation of our schools' success, and your impact on the lives of our students is immeasurable. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our community and for helping to shape the future of our children.
Today, we honor the spirit of Labor Day by acknowledging the contributions of every individual who plays a role in making Hyde County Schools a place where learning and growth thrive. Whether you're in the classroom, behind the scenes, or on the front lines, your work is essential, and it does not go unnoticed. I am grateful for each and every one of you and the positive difference you make every day. Wishing everyone a safe and restful Labor Day!

Have you heard about high school students participating in our 20-minute Dolphin Dialogue? This is a time for students to work on building communication skills, learn about current events, debate opinions, work on empathy, build self-confidence, set future goals, and listen to others. It’s an important part of their day! Ms. Rooney’s class participated in a team building activity yesterday that brought lots of smiles and laughter! It’s fun to be a Dolphin Scholar at Ocracoke School!
Breakfast is being served this year beginning at 7:30am in the Commons. Each day will feature a hot item for $2.00. There will always be cereal, fruit, oatmeal, and other snacks for purchase! Tomorrow’s hot breakfast is a toasted bagel with cream cheese (so far this week we’ve had pancakes, sausage biscuits, and egg/cheese/bacon on an English muffin). We will be sure to post the menu every day!
