If God opens a door, walk boldly through it. If God closes a door, keep it closed and don’t try to regain entry through a window.
Stop second guessing God’s will. Either you trust God or you don’t. Walk with confidence, by faith!
Job 42:10
And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
God is so faithful, even when we lose we win. Imagine being completely wiped out. Losing everything and having people rationalize that you must have done something terribly wrong for God to deal with you in this way. That's Job's story. But that was only the beginning of the equation.
God does a funny kind of math sometimes. PEMDAS (how I remembered the order of operations) says that you multiply before you divide, add or subtract. But not God. God sometimes mizes up the order of operations. In the life of Job and maybe in your life, God has subtracted or divided so that God can add and multiply. The Lord has a beautiful way of doubling down; restoring and returning to us all that has been lost 2, 4, 10, and even 100 fold.
Thank you, Lord, for changing the order of operations and blessing us beyond our imaginations.

I was reading "Streams in the Desert" this morning. The devotional this morning was about prayer and I think this is very appropriate for right now. Lots of people are feeling tension, grief, exhaustion, fear, concern about the pandemic, civil unrest, the election, unemployment, and the list goes on and on. I know for some this will feel too churchy, but the remedy really is prayer.
The author writes "Prayer is the link that connects us with God. It is the bridge that spans every gulf and carries us safely over every chasm of danger or need....Our prayers are God's opportunities."
I plan to pray. Join me in prayer for our nation, our children, our world. Let love rule and the will and reign of God be made evident.

Here is something biblical to ponder today!
40 days The flood lasted
40 years Moses fled Egypt
40 days Moses stayed on the Mount to get the 10 Commandments
40 years Exodus lasted
40 days Jesus fasted
40 days between Lent and Easter
40 days tell the woman to rest after giving birth.
So, what about the Bible and the number 40?
Remember that we are in the year 2020 (20 + 20 = 40)
40 days for the spiritual liberation of our nation.
During quarantine, rivers are cleaning up, vegetation is growing, the air is cleaner because of less pollution, less theft, less murders, families are bonding again, eating at the table, we are praying more for our neighbors, the Earth is at rest for the first time in many years. Surely you can see God has not forsaken us! I believe he is preparing us!!
In the Bible, whenever the number 40 appears there is a "change" during that time, no matter how horrible that time may have been. So, enjoy it and return to the family altar together, it will be of great blessing, and you will see the changes that God can work in you & your family!
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Romans 8: 28
“Everything works together for good for those who love God.”
So this is the time to pray like never before! God is giving us all a chance for renewal of our faith, to come back to him as ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!

Do you know how precious joy is to your life? If you don't know, the devil certainly knows it and that is why he is always trying to steal it.
Do all you can to guard your joy. Whatever things are just, pure, loving and of good report keep these things on your mind. Don't let the devil steal your joy.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Perspective is everything. The man who was once a partner with the founders of the Apple corporation realized that he could not handle the pressure of the unknown so left the partnership shortly after he joined it, long before Apple ever became the Apple company that we know now. He doesn't look back with any regret he understand that that was not a part of his destiny. He lives a very content and fulfilled life just as it is. He said he never would've survived the stress of the 20 years that Apple stock remained flat. In his words, he would've been the richest man in the cemetery.
So many lessons here. You can't miss what you never had. Don't live with regrets about what might have been. Celebrate what God gives you and live your best life as it is!
