Here’s what you can expect this summer in the Scenic City and beyond, based on predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center.
🌡️ Temperature
Think warm. Expect to see warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the US, with the exception of the Midwest.
The predicted continuation of La Niña conditions plays a large role in the expected hotter-than-average June-August for the US, especially in the West.
In Chattanooga, temperatures are expected to be warm through at least August. There’s a 33-40% chance of temps being above normal. Usually, Chattanooga averages highs of 85 degrees in June and 88 degrees in July + August.
🌨️ Precipitation
Keep your umbrella nearby. There’s an equal chance that rain will trend above or below normal through August. Usually, Chattanooga averages 4.1 inches of rain in June, 4.6 inches in July, and 3.7 inches in August.
