Exciting news! SeizAlarm now offers support for "Family Setup" Apple Watches. What does this mean for users? Well, it means that seizure detection can now work on a standalone basis with an LTE Apple Watch that has a mobile plan, without the need for an iPhone!

This fantastic feature is especially beneficial for parents with young children or seniors who can not have an iPhone.

Note: An iPhone is still needed to setup up the Watch, manage the app settings, and view the logs.

We are looking for participants to help us beta test the next version of SeizAlarm. Specifically, the new version will be adding support for Apple's "Family Setup". This will allow you to use SeizAlarm on a Watch that isn't directly connected/paired with an iPhone. This is a huge update for those that use SeizAlarm for their children.

You don't need to be using "Family Setup" to participate because we need to test it for those that aren't as well. The setup process on the Watch will be different and we want to make sure it is user-friendly and understandable.

Comment on this post if you are interested. We'll be reviewing those that are interested to make sure they are good candidates for the test.

SeizAlarm: Seizure Detection 16/01/2022

SeizAlarm version 5.2 is now available in the App Store.

We added features to improve the night monitoring experience. Such as the ability to control the volume of critical alert push notifications and the ability to disable the pre-help request countdown warning sound/vibration.

SeizAlarm also now captures the high and low heart rate range during a heart rate triggered help request event. These are saved in the log for added details you can share with your doctor.

SeizAlarm: Seizure Detection

Timeline photos 02/11/2021

πŸ’œ November is Epilepsy Awareness month. πŸ’œ
Currently, there is no cure. Beyond seizures, those with epilepsy face stigma, discrimination, and social isolation. Epilepsy impacts every aspect of one's life and every person in it. Together, we can reduce the stigma and work in pursuit of a world free of epilepsy..

If you know someone with epilepsy and you are with them often, it is good to get some training or be familiar with seizure first aid.

A seizure that lasts longer than 5 minutes, or having more than 1 seizure within a 5 minutes period, without returning to a normal level of consciousness between episodes is called status epilepticus.

This is a medical emergency that may lead to serious brain injury.

A seizure detection app and help request service like SeizAlarm is very helpful for those living alone and want peace of mind knowing that help requests will be sent out automatically if a seizure occurs.

Are you currently living alone or with another?

What advice would you give to someone living on their own?

No matter what, you don't have to fight alone. πŸ’œ
