Just a first draft to play with the idea.
Textiles and sewing in general is definitely my weakest craft area but im happy with the first result!
I think it's the cutest little Mushy set amongst Rose/Clear Quartz and Amythist, dried flowers and artificial moss mounds.
The perfect spot for any Fairy to rest upon!

Lets talk Lava Beads!
Why do i use them so much in my Jewellery making?
Well firstly i just love the look of them.
The Natural Black of the stone makes it a perfect base to work with and i love the contrast of the matt textured surface alongside smooth, glossy Gemstones.

Because lava stones come from deep within the earth, it is believed they carry an energy similar to the place where they originated.
Who wouldn't want to harness the power of a Volcano!
Lava stone is said to alleviate anxiety and bring calmness and feelings of relaxation.
The energy of this stone is said to help people who are feeling anger and negativity, reducing those emotions and replacing them with strength and courage.
It provides stability through times of change.
It promotes positive changes where needed in behavioural issues.
Lava stone is supposed to have very powerful spiritual effects on the human mind. It's said to cleanse negative thoughts and emotions, as well as stimulate creativity.
It's the only healing stone that can also be used as an Oil diffuser.

I've been working with Obsidian
A lot recently.
Known for being a strongly protective stone, it shields from negative energies. Obsidian draws out mental stress and tension. It stimulates spiritual growth and letting go of unwanted baggage!
So keeping this with me should help keep the Negativity away and look super cute on my bag at the same time!! 😜🤘💜

I've been giving myself really good advice recently, so i thought I'd share it!

Being creative and wanting to share your passion with the world can be a truly scary process! 😱

One of the biggest hurdles for me has been my 'Brand' 🤔
What does it say about me?
What will people like??
What do i put out there?
How do i compete against everyone else!

I hated the idea of being a Business! Trying to mass produce 'stock' and the whole selling process entirely! It just took all of the passion out of not just making Jewellery, but being creative at all!
I lost track of why i started AphroditeGemz in the first place!

I've been doing a lot of soul searching recently and taking a much needed look at my self, my life and the direction i want to take AphroditeGemz.

Here's a few wise words I've been telling myself that i thought I'd share:

🌌Dare to Dream!!!

🌱Everybody and everything starts small!

🥰Make and create what makes YOU Happy!

🤭You can't please everyone!.. And you shouldn't try to!

Finally finished these little tin planters for the Garden. Recycled from Bean tins!
I've used the baby shoots from my Fairy Garden Succulents for colour all year round.
Im so looking forward to Spring and getting out and bringing the Gardens back to life!

I started making Jewellery mainly because i couldn't find what i wanted for my self! I absolutely love Natural stones and Bead work but it was all a bit 'dainty' and not my style. (if i can even say i have 'a style' 🤪)
I've always liked Bold, statement Jewellery that really stands out.
With this new line of Aphroditegemz creations, i wanted to have the Beautiful healing properties of Natural Gemstones, in Big Chunky eye catching designs.
Being a bit of a Hippie / Goth / Punk mash up my self, i wanted to put a lot of my personality and style, Love and effort into creating these Unique, timeless pieces!!
