THE HOPE OF THE HOPELESS

📖 Main Verses:
James 1:12; Romans 8:18 (KJV)

Introduction

Life brings challenges, but God's grace is always sufficient.
Trust the process and God's perfect timing; in due season, you will reap if you faint not.

🔥 Enduring Trials and Tribulations

Revelation 2:9 (KJV): Recognizing works, tribulations, and poverty, yet rich in God's eyes.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV): Temptations are common, but God is faithful, providing a way of escape.

I. The Hope for a Sealed Adoption

Sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).
Future glory in heaven, walking streets of gold; all God's heirs.

As believers, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, a mark of God's ownership and protection. Recognizing our worth in God's eyes, despite worldly tribulations and poverty, provides enduring hope. We are part of God's eternal family, rich in His love.

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV): "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise."

Revelation 2:9 (KJV): Understanding our identity as God's heirs, recognized and valued by Him.

II. The Hope for a Crown of Glory

1 Peter 5:4 (KJV): "And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."

1 Peter 1:7-8 (KJV): "That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory."

Placing our hope in the Lord ensures an unfading crown of glory. Our faith, refined through trials, is more precious than gold. Although we haven't seen the Lord, we believe in Him, anticipating the joy and glory that will accompany His return.

III. The Hope for a Crown of Life

James 1:12 (KJV): "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV): "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

The crown of life awaits those who endure temptations, a promise from a loving God. In times of uncertainty, we find solace in God's plan, trusting His promises. Let patience guide us, knowing that God holds our future with thoughts of peace and a purposeful end.

🔥 Conclusion

As we delve into the hope of the hopeless, let us stay on fire for the Lord. Our hope is not in vain; it is anchored in the assurance of a sealed adoption, an unfading crown of glory, and the promise of a crown of life. Hold onto hope, for in the Lord, no one is truly hopeless.

In the midst of life's ups and downs, I find comfort in knowing that I am sealed by the Holy Spirit—assured that I am Yours and under Your protection. The trials I face, Lord, refine my faith, preparing me for the unfading crown of glory that awaits when Your Son returns. Grant me patience, O Lord, as I trust in Your perfect timing and the promise of a crown of life. May I find solace in Your thoughts of peace and purpose for my future.

Help me stay steadfast in my faith, keeping the fire burning for You. In the messiness of life, may Your promises be my anchor, and Your Word guides me through the twists and turns. I surrender to Your plan, knowing that it is solid and that my journey is held in Your hands.

“WHAT FAITH DOES”
Judges 6-8

Intro:
The theme of Judges is found (Jdg_17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.) (Jdg_21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.)

“The book portrays a series of relapses into idolatry on the part of God’s people, followed by invasions of the Promised Land and oppressions by their enemies. The narrative centers around the personalities of the heroic judges who were raised up to become deliverers of Israel, whenever they sincerely repented of their sins. The dark side of the picture is especially emphasized in the record.”

The impossibility of the Great Commission

“What Faith Does”

Faith sees the invisible, believes the impossible
Receives the incredible, no matter what was
Faith moves the unmovable, proves the unprovable
For anyone willing to trust
Believe and you'll see what faith does

I. Marks A Divine Pattern of the Master’s Calling (Chapter 6 – 7:15)
A. God planned and prepared His servants
B. God personally entrusted and endorsed the calling to His servants
C. God perpetuates and progresses the work for His servants
D. God powerfully protects His servants
Deut. 20 “Laws Concerning Warfare”
- Fearless (vs. 1-8)
- Spiritual-minded (vs. 10-18)
- Sensitive to the Lord’s doing (bowed down upon their knees)
These men did not bow the knee because they only bow to their King! (ex. Mordecia, Three Hebrew Children)
To whom are we bowing? Our public lives are determined by the amount of time we spend knowing our God in our private time

II.Manifests A Devoted Purpose to the Master’s Command (Chapter 7:16-25)
“stood in their place”

A. Complete Obedience (vs. 16-20)
B. Consistent Orderliness (v.21)
1Co 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
1Ti_3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

III. Maintains A Diligent Pursuit Until the Mission’s Completion (Chapter 😎
“Faint, yet pursuing” (v.4)
A. Superiority of the men of Ephraim (vs. 1-3)
B. The selfishness of the men Succoth & Penuel (vs. 4-18)
C. Sweet-talk of Zebah and Zalmunna (vs. 18-21)
(insincere praise used to persuade someone to do something.)

Conclusion:
Has there been a time when, if not all, most of the members of Believers Baptist Church of Tuao had “stood in their place”? Either by soul winning, discipleship, giving to Missions, being early and faithful in Church Attendance, and so on. Ever since our Church has faced the pandemic, how much has our faith grow and what has it done in our Church? Yes, most of us have been fainting, but the question is are still pursuing? Have we really fainted while doing the Lord’s work? Have we been limited so much that we are no longer pursuing, we are no longer standing in our place, and most of the times out of place. Can we still see what God can and will do through faith?

Philippians 1:27 KJV

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Note to Myself:

In the swirl of uncertainty, I'll let my faith be the compass—seeing what others might overlook, embracing challenges as opportunities, and turning the incredible into reality. My faith isn't a bystander; it's an active force shaping my decisions.

When faced with the unmovable, I'll let my faith be the seismic force that shifts foundations. I'll trust not in randomness but in meticulous planning. In weariness, I'll acknowledge it, but I won't let it dictate my trajectory. I'll be "faint, yet pursuing."

Obedience for me is not a robotic following of rules; it's a conscious choice aligning with a higher command. I'll let orderliness be a reflection of the purpose behind my actions. In life's tapestry, my faith will be a vibrant thread shaping my attitudes and decisions.

I'll ask myself: Am I standing in my place or finding myself out of place? Authenticity is tested in adversity. In the symphony of my life, I'll let my faith compose a melody resonating with resilience and an unwavering belief in the extraordinary. I won't just witness miracles; I'll be a conduit for them. In God I have faith. Amen.

DEVOTE OUR HEARTS TO GOD
10/29/2023

In a world filled with distractions and demands, the call to "DEVOTE YOUR HEART TO GOD" resonates with an eternal truth. Our hearts are at the core of our being, shaping our desires, decisions, and destinies. They are where love, ambition, and devotion reside. But they are also where deceit can hide, leading us astray. This message explores the power and benefits of complete devotion to God, emphasizing the importance of loving God with all our hearts and living a life dedicated to Him. Let's journey through a series of verses that unravel the depth of our hearts and illuminate the path to transformation and devotion.

📖 Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV)
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

This reminds us of the profound impact of God's Word on our hearts. It urges us to attend to His words, incline our ears, and keep them in the midst of our hearts. These words are not mere literature; they are life and health to our very flesh. Most crucially, we are instructed to keep our hearts with all diligence, for they are the wellspring of life. This verse underscores the significance of guarding our hearts against deception.

✨ Message 1: Transformation from Within: Embrace God's Word and allow it to permeate our heart. It is the source of life and health. As we absorb His wisdom, our heart will be transformed from within, guiding our thoughts and actions.

Acts 13:22 (KJV) introduces us to David, a man after God's own heart. David's devotion was unwavering, a testament to a heart wholly dedicated to fulfilling God's will. This verse serves as a beacon of hope, showing us that a heart devoted to God's purpose is a heart in line with God's own.

✨ Message 2: Connecting with Divine Purpose: David's life exemplifies the power of a heart devoted to God. Seek to align your heart with His divine purpose, just as David did, and find fulfillment in fulfilling God's will.

Jeremiah 3:15 assures us that God provides shepherds after His own heart to guide and nurture us. In their wisdom and knowledge, we discover God's heart expressed through their teachings.

✨ Message 3: Learning from the Heart of Shepherds: Embrace the wisdom and guidance of spiritual leaders who follow God's heart. They will help you understand His ways and deepen your devotion.

But our hearts are complex. Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV) exposes the heart's deceitfulness, warning that it is desperately wicked, and who can truly know it? This verse is a stark reminder of the constant struggle to keep our hearts aligned with God.

✨ Message 4: Acknowledging Deceit: Recognize the potential for deceit in your own heart. Acknowledgment is the first step to transformation.

Psalm 44:21 (KJV) proclaims that God searches the secrets of our hearts, while Jeremiah 17:10 underlines His intention to reward each person according to their ways. These verses emphasize the importance of sincerity in our devotion.

✨ Message 5: Honesty in Devotion: God knows your heart's secrets. Embrace devotion with sincerity, for He rewards the earnest heart.

The darkness within our hearts is unveiled in Mark 7:21-22 (KJV), where Jesus lists the evil thoughts that originate there. This passage compels us to confront our inner darkness.

✨ Message 6: Confronting the Darkness: Acknowledge and confront the darkness within your heart. Only by doing so can you transform and devote your heart to God.

However, there is hope. Ezekiel 36:26 (KJV) assures us that God offers a new heart and spirit, removing the stony heart and replacing it with one of flesh. This is a promise of transformation.

✨ Message 7: Embracing Transformation: Trust in God's promise of a new heart. Surrender to His transformational work within you.

Isaiah 57:15 (KJV) assures us that God dwells with the contrite and humble in spirit, reviving their hearts.

✨ Message 8: The Reviving Power of Humility: Embrace humility and contrition as a path to revival. God's presence in your heart will transform you.

Psalm 17:3 (KJV) encourages us to maintain a pure heart, free from transgressions.

✨ Message 9: Pursuit of Purity: Strive for a pure heart. Purify your thoughts and intentions to fully devote yourself to God.

Deuteronomy 8:2 (KJV) reminds us that God tests our hearts to know whether we will keep His commandments. These trials refine our devotion.

✨ Message 10: The Refining Fire of Trials: Embrace life's trials as opportunities to prove your devotion. Endurance leads to a devoted heart.

In 1 Kings 10:24 (KJV), we witness God's wisdom within Solomon's heart, a testament to God's blessings upon a devoted heart.

✨ Message 11: God's Wisdom in Devotion: Seek God's wisdom and blessings by dedicating your heart to Him. It's a path to true enlightenment.

In Proverbs 4:23, we find the essence of the matter: "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." It highlights the importance of safeguarding our hearts against deceit and impurity.

✨ Message 12: Guarding the Wellspring: Your heart is the wellspring of life. Protect it, for it is the source of your devotion to God.

Finally, in Matthew 22:37 (KJV), Jesus instructs us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind.

✨ Message 13: The Essence of Devotion: Embrace this command with all your heart, soul, and mind. Wholehearted love for God is the foundation of true devotion.

Finding True Rest in Christ: A Journey of Humility, Submission, and Service

Introduction

In today's fast-paced world, the concept of rest is often misconstrued as simply ceasing activity. However, resting in Christ goes far beyond mere physical inactivity. It encompasses a profound spiritual experience that demands humility, submission, and service. The words of Jesus in Matthew 11:25-30 (KJV) provide a foundation for understanding this spiritual rest:

"At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Let's delve into the three key points that define this journey of finding true rest in Christ.

1. Resting in Christ Demands Humility

Resting in Christ is not an act of self-sufficiency but a humble acknowledgment that we cannot bear life's burdens alone. It requires us to admit our limitations and recognize the need for divine assistance. As Philippians 2:7-8 (KJV) underscores:

"But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Jesus Himself exemplified humility by taking on the form of a servant. We must follow His example and humble ourselves, allowing Christ to lighten our burdens. Our journey to rest in Christ begins with a heart humbled before Him, ready to receive His grace.

2. Resting in Christ Demands Submission

Submission is another pivotal aspect of finding rest in Christ. We are called to submit to the teachings and guidance of our divine Teacher. In Luke 9:23 (KJV), Jesus emphasizes the necessity of self-denial and daily commitment:

"And he said to them all If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

Submission involves yielding our will to Christ and following Him faithfully. It is in submission that we learn, grow, and become vessels for His purpose. He is the ultimate mentor, guiding us towards true rest.

3. Resting in Christ Demands Service

Contrary to a common misconception that rest implies inactivity, resting in Christ involves a life of service. It is not about ceasing all endeavors but rather sharing the yoke with Christ, as He invites us in Matthew 11:29, "Take my yoke upon you."

This yoke represents labor, and through it, we become laborers with Christ, not just for Him. He offers a partnership in our journey through life's challenges. Resting in Christ does not shield us from life's difficulties but enables us to face them with the assurance that Christ's burden is light. In serving alongside Him, we find fulfillment, purpose, and, ultimately, rest for our souls.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, true rest in Christ is not a passive state of inactivity but a dynamic spiritual experience that demands humility, submission, and service. By humbling ourselves, submitting to Christ's guidance, and engaging in service alongside Him, we can embrace the profound rest that He promises. As we journey through life, may we find rest in Him, knowing that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light, and our souls shall find the peace and rest they long for.

Renewing Strength Through Waiting on the Lord

Main Verse: Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

In this passage, we see the promise of renewed strength when we wait upon the Lord. It's a powerful testament to the benefits of patience and trust in God's timing.

1. Patient in God's Time

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
"To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

This verse from Ecclesiastes reminds us that God has ordained seasons and times for every purpose. His divine plan is always perfect, never too late and never too early. Waiting on the Lord means recognizing and trusting in His timing, even when it doesn't align with our own desires or schedules. It's a call to have faith that His timing is always for our ultimate good.

2. Active Waiting in the Lord

Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."

Active waiting on the Lord is about maintaining our faith and courage. Just as the verse in Psalm 27:14 suggests, waiting is not passive but requires us to be strong in the Lord. We are encouraged to root ourselves in faith, ensuring we're well-prepared to endure the challenges and storms that may come our way.

Ephesians 6:10 also reminds us to be strong in the Lord's might, emphasizing the importance of relying on His strength during our wait.

3. Expectation of God’s Action

Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

This verse underscores the expectation of God's action in our lives. We are His workmanship, and He has ordained good works for us to walk in. Waiting on the Lord means recognizing that He is always moving and has intentional plans for us. This anticipation of His action can help us remain patient during our waiting period, knowing that God is working behind the scenes to bring about His purpose.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, waiting on the Lord is not a passive or futile endeavor. It's a practice deeply rooted in faith, trust, and expectation. When we patiently wait in God's perfect timing, actively maintain our faith and courage, and expect His actions in our lives, we are promised renewed strength and endurance. As Isaiah 40:31 states, we shall mount up with wings as eagles, run without growing weary, and walk without fainting. Waiting on the Lord is a transformative process that strengthens our character and renews our hope.

NOTE TO MYSELF:
Dear self, always remember that waiting on the Lord is a process that may test your patience, but the rewards are immeasurable. Trust in His perfect timing, remain active in your faith, and expect His divine intervention in your life. The promise of renewed strength is not an empty one. Keep waiting, keep believing, and keep moving forward in faith.

Title: A CHRISTIAN'S DRIVING FORCE

Joseph's Journey: From Dreams to Destiny

Joseph, the dreamer, was deeply cherished by his father Jacob, who adorned him with a magnificent coat of many colors. This favoritism aroused jealousy and resentment in his brothers.
This envy led to his betrayal, as his brothers sold him into slavery. Joseph's life took an unexpected turn.

He was then resold in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, where he faced an even greater trial.

Potiphar's wife, tempted by Joseph's integrity and handsomeness, falsely accused him of attempting to r**e her when he rejected her advances. This unjust accusation resulted in Joseph's imprisonment.
Yet, even in the darkest moments, Joseph found favor with the prison warden, who entrusted him with responsibilities.

Genesis 39:23 (KJV)

"The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper."
Joseph's Time in Prison: A Test of Faith

While in prison, Joseph encountered two fellow prisoners: the chief butler and the chief baker. They both experienced unsettling dreams.

Joseph's gift of dream interpretation became evident once again as he correctly deciphered the meaning behind their dreams, crediting God for the interpretations.

Joseph, imprisoned unjustly, humbly implored the chief butler to remember him when he was restored to his former position.

Genesis 40:14 (KJV)
"But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house."

Tragically, the chief butler forgot Joseph's plea.

Genesis 40:23 (KJV)

"Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him."

What Drives Us in Ministry?

POINT 1: A Merit-Driven Christian

The chief butler in this story epitomizes a merit-driven individual. He assisted Joseph with the hope of securing recognition and favor for himself.

Manifestations of a Merit-Driven Christian:
1. Attendance based on personal gain (Regular, Occasional, Political)
2. Limited participation, solely for personal advancement
3. People Pleaser. A tendency to prioritize people's approval over God's

Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

POINT 2: A Service-Driven Christian

Service-driven Christians dedicate themselves to the ministry, seeking to glorify the Lord rather than pleasing people.

Galatians 1:10 (KJV)
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

Manifestations of a Service-Driven Christian:
1. Cultivating humility, recognizing that pride leads to shame

(Proverbs 11:2)
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

2. Readily available to serve, acknowledging that God desires our availability over our ability

(Isaiah 6:8)
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Conclusion:

A service-driven life necessitates selflessness, where Christ and others take precedence.

Denying oneself to allow God to be more significant in one's life. Becoming less for God to be more. (John 3:30) A selfless service-driven Christian places Christ and brethren first, exemplifying humility and availability in ministry.

Note to Myself:
Remember to live a service-driven life, placing Christ and others above personal gain, cultivating humility, and being readily available to serve in ministry.
