Incorrect administration of nerve blocks can pose several risks and complications. Firstly, if the nerve block is not properly placed or targeted, it may result in incomplete or inadequate pain relief, leading to persistent pain or discomfort for the patient. Also, there is a risk of unintentional nerve damage or injury if the needle or catheter used for the block inadvertently damages nearby nerves or structures.

Our app, Block Buddy Pro, is a mobile reference tool for anesthesia providers performing ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks and point of care ultrasound (POCUS). The app contains video, detailed images, and descriptions fordozens of different blocks, along with various other tools and resources. It’s like having your medical text book with you wherever you go – only it’s easier to search and takes up a lot less space.
Our conferences explore how to safely and effectively perform ultrasound guided nerve blocks through classroom lectures and hands-on demonstrations. The goal of each conference is to create confidence and clarity in the operating room – improving the lives of patients and the practice of providers. Block Buddy (formerly Western Reserve Anesthesia Education) instructors perform hundreds of ultrasound guided nerve blocks each year and have been featured in publications such as AANA Journal and Outpatient Surgery Magazine. They are here to help you understand the sonoanatomy and techniques used to perform basic and advanced peripheral nerve blocks, so you can take that knowledge into the operating room.
The creators of Block Buddy, Jeff Molter and Scott Urigel, are practicing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) with a passion for people. Jeff and Scott are committed to improving the lives of patients and to increasing the knowledge of their peers.
