This event is an annual CME conference with the aim of providing a space for interprofessional providers to learn about holistic care to patients with substance use disorder. Both in person and virtual options are available.

2024-2025 Board of Directors
It is time to cast your ballot for the 2024-2025 Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants (KAPA) Board of Directors. Board members will serve for one or two years (depending on office) beginning July 1, 2024. All of the individuals nominated have been contacted by KAPA and have verified their willingness to serve.
Elections open May 1 and close May 15.

KAPA is gearing up for our 48th Annual CME Fall Symposium!
Physician Assistants, researchers, educators, and other healthcare providers are encouraged to submit abstracts regarding basic and clinical research, quality improvements, outcomes research, interesting case presentations, or innovations in healthcare.

KAPA is accepting applications for the KAPA 2024 Student Scholarship. The selected recipient will be awarded $2,500.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Award Criteria:
The KAPA Student Scholarship will be awarded to a current PA Student who best exemplifies characteristics of a PA by displaying compassionate, ethical, and competent team-based care. The student must also portray professionalism and inclusion while being a leader and advocate for the profession.
Award Eligibility:
To be eligible, a student must:
Be within 12 months of graduation from a PA Program AND be a KAPA member;
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater; and
Be involved in service both to the community and the profession.
Required Documents to Apply:
A current/updated CV
At least two letters of recommendation fulfilling the following criteria:
i) One letter MUST be from a current faculty member (must verify GPA and graduation date in letter).
ii) If the faculty letter is not from a PA, then you MUST submit a separate letter from a practicing PA.
iii) A letter from a MD/DO or NP may also be submitted as long as at least one letter is written by a PA.
Applicants must also provide responses to the following prompts (300-word limit for each):
Describe how you best exemplify the characteristics of a PA to include compassionate, ethical, and competent team-based care.
Explain how you display leadership and service both to your community and the profession.
Tell how you portray professionalism both in and out of the classroom while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
