Esta semana, la luna nueva nos invitó a darle la bienvenida a lo inesperado. A usar la interrupción como un permiso para crear, aventurar y perderse en paisaje oníricos.

Esta super-luna nueva es un momento poderoso para manifestar, generar cambios, imaginar realidades nuevas y recordar nuestrxs intenciones y aspiraciones. Pero para crecer, hay que mudar las pieles viejas.

Una hermosa manera de soltar es ofrendándonos un baño espiritual. La maestra María Benedetti, en su libro “¡Hasta los baños te curan!” recomienda que “para un baño espiritual, tienes que recoger la planta, hervirla y dejar que ese líquido se enfríe. Después de bañarte con jabón, dejas que ese chorrito del baño de plantas toque todas las partes del cuerpo desde el cabello hasta los pies.”

Abrir estos espacios espirituales nos permiten transmutar y transformar estas energías para con nuestra esencia y propósito. Como dijo nuestro compa en la Acción por Palestina el 2 de marzo, nos manifestamos no para pretender cambiar el mundo cambiar el mundo que nos rodea, sino para que ese mundo no nos cambie a nosotres. This week, the new moon invited us to welcome the unexpected. To use interruption as a permission to create, adventure and get lost in dreamscapes.

This super-new moon is a powerful time to manifest, generate change, imagine new realities and remember our intentions and aspirations. But to grow, we must shed our old skins.

A beautiful way to let go is to offer ourselves a spiritual bath. The teacher Maria Benedetti, in her book "¡Hasta los baños te curan!" recommends that "for a spiritual bath, you have to pick the plant, boil it and let the liquid cool down. After bathing with soap, you let that trickle of the plant bath touch all parts of your body from your hair to your feet."

Opening these spiritual spaces allow us to transmute and transform these energies to our essence and purpose. As our compa said at the Action for Palestine on March 2nd, we manifest not to pretend to change the world around us, but so that the world does not change us. We wish you all a mystical new moon in Pisces ✨.

Estamos sumamente orgulloses y agradecides de compartirles nuestre manual - Descolonización para Organizadores. Inspirado en la rueda de la medicina taína, este manual de estudios nos ayuda via diverses diálogos, prácticas y actividades para apoyar en el camino hacia la descolonización.

Aunque se creó para fomentar un cambio en la cultura de movimientos, y es mayormente centrado en la historia y ancestralidad de Boriké, es un texto abierto para todes aquelles que desean construir, descontruir y unirse en la práctica de la descolonización de su mundo.

After the earthquakes, quarantine, hurricanes, evictions, protests, and more... we managed to finish the first manual we developed!

We are extremely proud and grateful to share our manual - Decolonization for Organizers. Inspired by the Taino medicine wheel, this study manual helps us through various dialogues, practices and activities to support the path towards decolonization.

Although it was created to foster a change in the culture of movements, and is mostly focused on the history and ancestry of Boriké, it is an open text for all those who wish to build, deconstruct and join in the practice of decolonizing their world.

On our linktree you can find two versions of this manual. The digital version is free and open access for all who wish! Purchases of the printed edition will be used to raise funds for CEPA.

We thank all those who supported the realization of the manual in Spanish, to Colectivo Babilla, Tania Gonzales, Maribel Caro, and Lau Pat RA for their incredible contribution.

Nuestra organización se nombra por sus siglas en inglés, “Center for Embodied Pedagogy and Action”, lo cual se traduce a Centro para la acción y la pedagogía corporeizada. Comenzó cuando nuestre fundadora Melissa se alejó de la academia para buscar maneras de abarcar la educación a través de la cuerpa, las emociones, la espiritualidad y la acción. De sacar la pedagogía estrictamente de las instituciones académicas y educativas.

CEPA se centra en que cada persona es maestre. Tenemos la responsabilidad de accionar y encarnar lo que soñamos y envisionamos para nosotres mismes, nuestras comunidades, nuestra tierra.

También hace referencia con el concepto de la cepa - aquello que conecta las raíces con el tallo, el ancla de cada planta a la tierra. Esa búsqueda de retornar a la esencia - de sentirnos anclados, conectades y en sintonía a la tierra, a sus ciclos, elementos y medicina. Dentro y alrededor de cada une de nosotres está nuestre ancla, centro, misión y visión.

Our organization is named for its acronym, “Center for Embodied Pedagogy and Action”, which translates to Center for Embodied Pedagogy and Action. It began when our founder Melissa moved away from academia to seek ways to embrace education through body, emotion, spirituality and action. To take pedagogy strictly out of academic and educational institutions.

CEPA focuses on the fact that each person is a teacher. We have the responsibility to act and embody what we dream and envision for ourselves, our communities, our land.

It also refers to the concept of the stock, or Cepa in Spanish - that which connects the roots to the stem, the anchor of each plant to the earth. This search to return to the essence - to feel anchored, connected and attuned to the earth, to its cycles, elements and medicine. Within and around each of us is our anchor, center, mission and vision.

This will be an intimate gathering where we will be watching the movie "Salt of This Sea" by Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir. After the film, we will make space for healing and liberation spells for our siblings in Palestine.

During the evening, there will be time for sharing and eating, among other treats (without the tricks!)

Bring your blanket, yoga mat, or something comfortable to sit on while watching the movie; and a glass, plate, and utensils to enjoy the food, and an offering for the collective solidarity altar.

Costumes are more than welcome!

Mañana honramos el Eclipse Solar y la Luna Nueva en Libra. Los eclipses están conectados con los comienzos y los finales, la sombra y la luz. Este es uno para dejar ir, soltar aquelloque ya no nos apoyan, equilibrar las balanzas.

En la cosmovisión originaria, los eclipses marcan un tiempo de reverencia. El sol y la luna se unen y re-equilibran la luz con la oscuridad. Este re-equilibrio no es un evento para presenciar, manifestar o ritualizar, ya que la energía es vasta e impredecible.

Mi abuela una vez me dijo que el amor era como una chiringa. Al principio, cuando amas algo o a alguien, les sostienes, les das el impulso para crecer y volar. Les conectas a la tierra y les diriges hacia vientos más favorablesn. Cuando comienza a elevar, lo mejor que puedes hacer es soltar. Amar también significa soltar, liberar, dejar volar y abrirse a lo nuevo en el camino.

¿Cuál es la chiringa a la que te has aferrado y pide ser soltada? ¿Qué hay dentro o alrededor de ti que busca liberarse? Hay belleza tanto en el sostén como en la liberación, y a menudo para hacer una debemos hacer la otra.

Tomorrow we honor the Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Libra. Eclipses are connected with beginnings and endings, shadow and light. This is one to let go, release that which no longer supports us, to balance the scales.

In indigenous cosmovision, eclipses mark a time of reverence. The sun and moon come together and rebalance light with darkness. This rebalancing is not an event to witness, manifest, or ritualize, as the energy is vast and unpredictable.

My grandmother once told me that love is like a kite. At first, when you love something or someone, you hold them, and give them the momentum to grow and fly. You connect them to the earth and direct them towards more favorable winds. When it begins to soar, the best thing you can do is let go. Loving also means letting go, releasing, letting fly, and opening up to what's new on the path.

What is the kite you have clung to that is asking to be released? What is inside or around you that seeks liberation? There is beauty in both holding and releasing, and often to do one, we must do the other.

La belleza del trabajo de cultivar la tierra en la ciudad no es solo el trabajo del cultivo en sí mismo, sino de lo que aflora conjunto su cuidado e intercambios. A lo largo de estos cinco años, el conuco ha crecido a ser no solo el hogar de plantas medicinales y comestibles, sino también sustento y casa para una variedad de fauna y polinizadores.

The beauty of cultivating land in the city is not just about the act of cultivation itself, but also about what emerges from its care and exchanges. Over these five years, the conuco has grown to become not only a home to medicinal and edible plants, but also a sustain and home to a variety of wildlife and pollinators.

As the moringa tree grew and the bananas bloomed, the reinitas started building their nests. Did you know that reinitas always return to the place where they were born to build their nests 🪺?

When we care for, attend to, and cultivate the land that sustains us, we invite back its essence and nurture the relationships within it.

Cultivating love and respect in ourselves and towards life is like water, its effect extends to other spaces.

¡Mañana honramos la Luna Azul en Piscis! Una luna azul es un término utilizado para describir la segunda luna llena en un mes. Es un evento que ocurre cada 2-3 años, de ahí la frase "una vez cada luna azul". Coincide con una superluna, que es cuando la luna está en su punto más cercano a la Tierra ¡Mañana estará a 222,043 millas!

Se abren portales fluidos entre sueños y la realidad. Coincide con la retrogradación de seis planetas. Será una fuerza poderosa para la reflexión, la limpieza y la transformación. Tomorrow we honor the Blue Moon in Pisces! A blue moon is a term used to describe the second full moon in a month. It's an event that occurs every 2-3 years, hence the phrase "once in a blue moon." It coincides with a supermoon, which is when the moon is at its closest point to Earth. Tomorrow it will be 222,043 miles away!

Fluid portals open between dreams and reality. It coincides with the retrograde of six planets. It will be a powerful force for reflection, cleansing, and transformation. Like water, it reflects our dreams, innate desires, and truths. It can cleanse our energetic body and release what no longer serves us. It opens up space for our continued development and transformation.

Music is medicine. It can inspire, guide, and move us, but it can also be violent, disturbing, and alter energies. Combining their formal studies and self-healing journey, they shift and transform cultures of resistance in the lineages of healing justice and decolonization. She is a trauma informed, somatic practitioner who is always looking for new ways to ground our vision of collective liberation and healing.

As a dance psychotherapist and cultural manager, she has dedicated her work to building support networks for the well-being of Latino and Black communities in the United States and the Caribbean. She has worked with a plethora of communities promoting inclusion, connection, and empowerment through exploration of cultural identity and principles of creative art therapies. She approaches support with great empathy and specialized attention.

Su trabajo escénico comenzó en 1998 con el grupo de teatro callejero y político Jóvenes del ‘98. Desde el 2013 ha formado parte de Caborca, una compañía de teatro bilingüe establecida en la ciudad de Nueva York. Entre el 2016 y el 2021 formó parte de la  banda de rock independiente Pinc Louds. La pandemia le forzó a regresar a Puerto Rico. Sostiene una práctica de masaje y actualmente es becario de SecueLa, proyecto/escuela de cuidados y arte de Latinoamérica, donde estudia astrología.

Today, we introduce you to Pelé! Their art combines performance, music, care, and improvisation as regenerating strategies for bodies affected by the catastrophe of capitalism. Their stage work began in 1998 with the political street theater group Jóvenes del ‘98. Since 2013, they have been part of Caborca, a bilingual theater company based in New York City. Between 2016 and 2021, they were part of the independent rock band Pinc Louds. The pandemic forced them to return to Puerto Rico. they maintain a massage practice and is currently a fellow of SecueLa, a project/school of care and art in Latin America, where they study astrology.

Creó el taller "Mi cuerpo soy yo," dotando a l@s participantes de una rutina propia, donde profundizan y estimulan las energías del cuerpo, haciendo énfasis en el acto puro y poderoso de dar(te) y recibir amor.

He has a long list of titles in both film and theater in his artistic career. He graduated from the Dominican School of Dramatic Art and the Cinematographic Research Center of Buenos Aires. He created the workshop "I am my body," providing participants with their own routine, where they deepen and stimulate the energies of the body, emphasizing the pure and powerful act of giving and receiving love.

La música y la canción son su ruta. La intuición y el juego son sus principales maestres.

The drive of their quest interweaves music, storytelling, voice, play, community, theatricality, oral culture, creative writing, and sound accompaniment as tools for decoLOnization, TRANSition, and LIBERAtion. They are an apprentice of plants, meditation, and the subtle. They have a bachelor's degree in theater and music, a master's degree in literature, credits in thanatology, and certification in sound therapy. Music and song are their path. Intuition and play are their main teachers.

Estamos a solo unas semanas para la apertura de nuestre Portal de Práctica, y nos sentimos bien emocionades de presentarles les sanadoris que lo harán posible! Estas sesiones serán virtuales desde el 7 de agosto hasta el 31 de octubre. Son una oportunidad para juntarnos a enraizarnos, centrarnos y reconectar con nuestre poder y vitalidad.
Hoy, le presentamos a Dayleen Ortiz Acevedo! Nacida en Mayagüez y criada en San Germán. Completó una maestría en Consejería Psicológica y ejerce como terapeuta para personas neurodiverses, sobrevivientes de las violencias y a las personas LBGTTQIA+, mediante del uso de técnicas de arte expresivo y juego. Creadora del concepto Espacios Solidarios que intenciona propiciar un espacio seguro que aporte a la vida digna, la emancipación y la autonomía. Defensora del cuidado y tiempo de ocio.  Le apasiona bailar, la bomba, pintar, improvisar, escribir poesía y conectar con la tierra.

We are just a few weeks away from the opening of our Portal de Práctica, and we are very excited to introduce you to the healers who make it possible! These virtual sessions will take place from August 7th to October 31st. They are an opportunity for us to come together and ground & center ourselves, to reconnect with our power and vitality.
Today, we introduce you to Dayleen Ortiz Acevedo! Born in Mayagüez and raised in San Germán. She completed a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and works as a therapist for neurodiverse individuals, survivors of violence, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, using expressive art and play techniques. Creator of the Solidarity Spaces concept that intends to provide a safe space that contributes to dignified life, emancipation, and autonomy. An advocate for self-care and leisure time, she is passionate about dancing, bomba, painting, improvising, writing poetry, and connecting with the earth.
