In other words, there are lots of places to find SpiderMonkey and lots of desserts to choose from. Just NO MORE custom cakes and treats. Yes, not even for you. Yes, not even if you pay extra. Lol

What does your face do involuntarily when you take pictures? For me, it’s that left eyebrow. It stands at attention every time. Like no matter what facial expression I’m making, it’s that one subtle hint of “I’m smiling, but don’t test me” and I’m like “Dang, eyebrow, calm down. Nobody even said anything” and then my eyebrow is like “That’s right, they didn’t…and they bet not”. My eyebrow has an attitude problem. 🙈😂

By the way, next Thursday we’ll be with RD916 at Movement Brewing in Rancho Cordova. Come out for beignets, bomb food, great beer, and trivia night. 🐒

There are times in our lives when we are reminded or of value. Honestly, this quote, for me, has little to do with the price of goods. It has lots to do with the people I surround myself with and invite into my life. Sometimes you have to raise the price of admission. What is your price for your Loyalty? Respect? Friendship? Trust? Love? Your time? Not in dollars, but in reciprocity. If your price is too low on respect, that’s probably why you keep getting disrespected. You get my point? Here’s a good reason to pop up at the pop ups. You never know what SpiderMonkey might have up her sleeve. Friday, we brought out more of our traditional desserts. We had Peach Cobbler, Sweet Potato Pie, and Pound Cake. One of our beautiful patrons said, “I love eating Pound Cake with strawberries”. SpiderMonkey said, “Say less”, and boom goes the dynamite.

Well, it’s official. Matthew Burgess is in the running for a seat in the State Senate. I can’t express how proud I am to get behind this. The Burgess name has become synonymous with change, growth, equity and inclusion in Sacramento on a city level. Just imagine how awesome it’ll be to see Matthew bring that same energy on the state level.

Well, this day has been amazing. At the address by is had the privilege of meeting this wonderful human and art curator , I was also introduced to this super dope band .band.hayez , and was mentioned in our mayor’s speech. I freaking love our city. I got to say hello again to . We’re gonna be besties, I just know it. Lol. I also look forward to working with on God knows what for just because I owe that program so much. Being in a network of people that are is so priceless. 🖤🐒

SpiderMonkey, what have you been up to?

Prayer and inward reflection. Let me share a moment of vulnerability with you. Entrepreneurship is hard. Being a creative and maintaining a reasonable level of confidence is challenging and fluctuates moment to moment at times. Anxiety and mild panic attacks are quiet and common. Am I doing the right thing? Am I going in the right direction? Am I going to get left behind? Am I making myself seen and heard?

Waking up in the middle of the night to clean the kitchen helps. It gives me time to surrender my creativity to my Creator. Ask questions, erase questions, confront fears, and rebuild my confidence. By the time the last dish is clean, so are my thoughts. I’m refocused and I remember to keep it simple, keep it consistent, and keep it pure.🐒
