Doing my first ever pop up trunk show today at the beautiful !
My little painting buddy. He keeps the gnats from getting in the way.
Just watching the sunset last night after a great day at Artspire and . Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by, it was great talking to you all! FYI, my phone fell into the river right after this photo, but it was a nice night for a dip.
Late night framing in my luxurious basement workshop, getting ready for the this weekend, see you there!
New work in progress. It's been a busy month already with my art opening over at and preparing for the in a few weeks! Thanks to everyone who showed up over at Viva, it was great seeing you all!
Had a great time at the last weekend, even walked away with first place for 2D art! Can't wait to go back next year. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!
Here's some of the shows I'll be doing this year. I'll add more to the list once I receive acceptance letters.
Stay Or Leave
-watercolor-
I saw a ginkgo leaf on the ground, no other leaves around and no tree. Somewhere there were other leaves, probably still on their branches, comfortable where they were. This one though had moved on, and I felt glad that I had seen it, as the wind picked up and moved it a little further on its way.
New piece, should be done today!
Heading back home tomorrow I think. I'm going to miss these trees and the ocean, but I'll be taking them home with me and putting them down on paper someday!
The Infinite Shoreline
-watercolor-
On a dark day in November, on the bank of the Mississippi River, I came upon a dead tree. It's wet, grey wood was covered in tiny white fungi, clinging like barnacles to an ocean rock. Brilliant red and orange vines crawled along the empty spaces like woodland starfish, arms waving slightly in the autumn breeze. I thought of continuing along the river, following the shoreline to the sea, to more rivers, just quietly walking forever and ever.
Almost done with this painting, hoping to finish up this week .
ALSO: someone pointed out to me the other day that the calendars I made have the month of June with the wrong dates on it! I am not sure how this could have happened, but I apologize for the mistake and inconvenience for those of you who had to change the dates around yourself!
Thanks so much and for putting my art on the newest cover of Spiritually and Health!
My dreams of becoming a cover model have been fulfilled! 😂

CALENDAR UPDATE: I have made a new batch of calendars and put them up on the site for those of you who didn't get a chance to get one first time around. Very limited supply , if you do not see the listing anymore it means they have sold out! I have separated the two different sizes into two different listings, so make sure you choose the right listing for the size you want.
Almost finished with a new painting, it's been a while since I've had time to paint with the incredible amount of calendar orders I received! Thank you so much for all of your support, it was literally almost too much for one person to handle! I appreciate all of your patience and waiting for your orders to get out.

As usual, I had a great time in beautiful Down East Maine! One more day in Portland, then on to Western Massachusetts, then home to lock myself in my room and make calendars and ship out orders for the foreseeable future haha. Thanks again for your patience and allowing me to take this time to have much needed time with the best friends a guy could have. See you soon!
I just wanted to say thanks again for all the orders and messages! I'm out in Maine, kinda off grid. I'm heading home in a few days, but until then I've paused my website and orders just to make sure I can fulfill them in time. When I get home and get an idea of my ability to get the orders out, I'll reopen the site. Thanks again!
Calendars are now available. Limited stock!
This year's calendar is oriented vertically to showcase art that I painted taller than they are wide. They are again printed on 140 lb watercolor paper in sizes 8.5x11 and 5x7 inches closed.
Coming soon! I had a bit of trouble getting my hands on the right materials for my calendar this year, but they should be ready sometime this week.

.artisan.market in full swing, come on down!
Got back home yesterday, but that 3 days in Colorado will last me a while. So beautiful! Back to work getting ready for the .artisan.market October 1st, see you there!
Soaking it in.
Beyond pumped to have received "Best In Show" at the last weekend! This is the first art festival I ever participated in over 10 years ago, the one that pretty much made me start thinking there might be a way to make art for a living. So I am extra grateful to win this award from this awesome community! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and said so many nice comments.
I'm off to the airport to get to Colorado for a few days with some good friends, I hope TSA lets me through while wearing my ribbon!

Love Me Back
Often, while walking the woods or along the shore, I will come upon something beautiful. A bird, every feather perfect in shape and color. A deer in the golden light of summer. An insect, a tree, a field of waving grass. I am filled with something like love, and as I eventually move on I wonder in vain, if they love me back.

Trying to get a new painting done before the art festival in Wausau next weekend, but this big ol' boat is also wanting to get done, so we'll see...
Great times in Downeast Maine, visiting with artist Phil Barter and his wife Priscilla . Got some great tips on some color mixes I want to try. Then added some more beautiful sights to my list of inspirations!
