Physical quantity and unit Measuring physical quantity
I'm coming back to the page...
what is lami's theorem? What are its significance?
What do we get from the slope of line between two points of an x-t graph?
DIMENSION- Power to which a physical quantity depends on a fundamental is called dimension (dependance) of the quantity on that fundamental.
Eg. Force can obtained by raising the power of mass by 1, power of length by 1 and power of time by -1.
Therefore dimension of force on mass, length and time are 1, 1and -2 respectively.
Bigger unit of length-----
Astronomical unit- mean distance of earth to sun= 14.96 x 10¹² m
Light year- distance covered by light in one year. = 3 x 10^8x 60x60x24x365 m
Parsec- It is the distance of the point where an arc of 1 A.U. makes an angle of 1". = 3.08x10¹6 m.
1 meter - It is the length travelled by light in vaccum 1/299792458 th fraction of a second.
1 Kilogram - It is the amount of matter contained in pt-Ir cylinder sample decided by the scientists.
1 Second - It is the duration in which 9192631770 vibration corrosponds to ground state transition in Cs 133 isotop takes place.
DIMENSION- The power dependence of any physical qunatity on a given fundamental quantity is called dimension of that quantity on that fundamental.
The power to which a fundamental quantity is to be raised to obtain a quantity is called dimension of the quantity on the that fundamental.
Eg. - force can be obtain by raising power of mass by 1, the power of length by 1and the power of time by -2. Theseare the dimension of force on mass, length and time respectively.
Centre of mass is a hypothetical point where if all the mass and net force on it is supposed to be acting, then it will perform the same motion, as the body being point mass itself subjected to do with actual distribution of force and mass.
Centre of mass concept simplifies complex kinematic and dynamic problem of a system.
Explain uniform cIrcular motion?
Can you define "centre of mass".
What is its significance?
What is parallax?
Shifting in the position of an object with respect to ground due to shift in the position of eye/observer.
Basis- the distance between two position of eye is called basis.
Parallactic angle-
The angle that the basis makes at the position of object is called parallactic angle.
This method is used to determine the distance of stars.
Diameter of moon etc.
This is evil while we make measurements.
What is PARALLEX?
What is PARALLAX ?
PHYSICAL QUANTITY-
All those aspects / features which constitutes the universe, which are required to describe the Physical phenomenons and are measurable are called physical quantity.
Define a Physical quantity.
Agree. Or. Disagree
Absolute permittivity of a medium is the measurement of ability of medium to resists the propagation/formation of electric field lines through itself. or
It is measurement of ability of medium to resists own's polarization Due to presence of electric field.
What is absolute permittivity of a medium? What is its physical significance?
Coulombs Law for interaction between 2 point charge--
Magnitude of force is
1) directly proportional to product of charges.
2) inversely proportional to square of distance b/w the charges.
3) Inversely proportional to absolute permittivity of medium
Direction---
1) similar charge repel and disimilar charge attract.
2) force acts line joining the two charges.
N. A. Khan
write statements of coulomb's law so that we can write its vector form directly.
Answer will be posted letter. First you try.
Properties of charge-
1. Scalar nature
2. Additivity
3. Quantizatin
4. Conservation
5. Inveriance with speed
6. Interaction between charges
who can list 6 properties of charge.
