These words help sum up Good Friday. Holy Friday. Solemn Friday. All things are covered by His blood shed for our sin on Calvary. All sin, pain, shame, fear, loss, grief can be left at the Cross.

Our names are written on His hands in blood and nail pierced holes. The pain and sacrifice taken for you and for me out of a love that is perfect, unfailing, never ending and complete.

You know how sometimes people ask you for advice and you give it and then they don’t take it? I kind of did that. Most of you said no words on the dreamscapes when I polled you but …
Somehow words ended up on them today. Not sure how that happened 😉🤔😜. Here’s the thing… if you love one but don’t like the words or phrase on it, I have secret ways of removing the stamping without a trace so you’ll have the option to do that.

The Dreamscape collection is designed to take you away to a peaceful place. A place bursting with color and life. You can imagine yourself meandering through the cotton candy colored bushes and trees or watching the vibrant sunset from a stream that sparkles in the last light of the day. The forest was filled with the scent of wonder and amazing things to come. There was a small creek that ran through it. Vibrant leaves and flowers blanketed the whole place with colors that made your heart leap with joy. There was a gentle breeze, the kind that refreshes something deep beneath the skin it touches. She goes there to be reminded of her smallness and of the greatness of God.

That’s what these hearts say. It’s kind of like a sentence. And a statement of declaration that God speaks over us. Victorious not in our strength but in His. Warriors not in the world’s way but in the way of the Kingdom.

What word or words do you need to hear God speak over you?

The “inside out” hearts each have 4 words in them. Two “negative” and two “positive”. They represent the various things we carry around in our hearts at any given time. Our emotions and experiences in life are so wide ranging and it’s often we find ourselves feeling and experiencing so many things at once - and sometimes even feeling seemingly opposite emotions simultaneously.

Sometimes all these things feel light and easy to carry but often they feel more like a storm of swirling and raging emotions and it’s hard to make sense of things. In those times we especially need God to speak truth over us. And so the more prominent word or phrase on each heart represents some of the things we may hear God say to us in our stormy times.

Not gonna lie… these fun sides make me swoon a bit. These and so many more “Inside Out” hearts are dropping in the shop Thursday 1/26 at 8pm EST!

These hearts kind of remind me of stained glass. The various “pieces” are once again torn hymns but this time I painted over them lightly in vibrant colors and then scribbled Scripture, song lyrics and prayers on each one in literally awful handwriting. It was very very therapeutic and I recommend it 10 out of 10 stars. Afterwards, I ripped the pieces into bits and formed the pieces into hearts.

As with all of the “inside out” hearts, there are “good” and “bad” words tucked into each heart representing the various emotions and things we all carry around at any given time. Then on top of the heart is a more prominent word on top of the heart representing the words God speakers over our anxious hearts.

Posting peace because I’m asking God for more peace in my life right now. Asking Him to quiet down all the various “words and stresses” I’m carrying in my own heart and to speak peace over it all.

If you missed my last post about the hearts… they each have several words in them. Some “positive” like joy and happy and love and peace. And some “negative” like fear and sorrow and worries and regret. Each heart represents all of the various things we carry with us at any given moment. And then there’s a word or phrase more prominently placed on each heart. A word like warrior, overcomer, child of God, masterpiece. Those are the words God speaks to us and over all our many burdens we carry.

To be fully transparent… I’m carrying a good amount of “stuff” lately. At first these were therapeutic to paint and now they’re hitting home a little too much but I’ll keep pushing through. If you are carrying some stuff too I thought it might be helpful for us to lay some of the words down here. Maybe just 2-3 words of what we feel we are carrying - either “good” or “bad” or both. I’ll start.

Disappointment.
Sadness.
Gratefulness.

Don’t let them fool you. These hearts are shiny and happy. They exude fun and joy. They’re glossy and sparkly with glitter. But they are also battle tested. Make no mistake. They carry within them both sunshine and sadness, dreams and disappointments, inspiration and desperation. All of it. At once. Much like each of us.

We spend a lot of time shining ourselves up, putting happy faces on, maybe even adding a little sparkle. But in the quiet moments, we know there’s much h more brewing beneath the surface for all of us. We carry a lot. All the time.

Sometimes I think the true depth of living lies in experiencing the true range of often seemingly opposing emotions together. Those moments when joy supernaturally touches down in the middle of sorrow. When we laugh so hard we cry or cry so hard we laugh. We tend to categorize emotions as negative or positive and while that makes sense and is natural, the mixing of the two is what often allows us to feel the deepest and give us the truest, most genuine experience of living.

To the Believer in Christ, offering up all the many things we carry around to Him also allows for the deepest and most true experience of all. When we offer our range of emotions to Him, we allow Him to speak new words over us. He tells us who we are. We are reminded our experiences and emotions don’t define us. And so symbolically each of these hearts carries a more prominent and obvious word on top of everything. Words like warrior, forgiven, child of God, masterpiece, etc. Words our Good God would speak over us to quiet the storm in our hearts.

I call this series “Inside Out”Hearts inspired by the movie of the same name. (Yes the kid’s movie.) if you have never seen it I can’t recommend it enough. It’s profound and beautiful and I cry every time.
