We would like to congratulate Nathanial Rayle, and Jaime Martinez, for receiving the βMuddy Boots Awardβ from our partners at the Ohio Contractors Association! Both young men earned this award by displaying exceptional work ethic and commitment to a career in construction equipment. Both of these students have also been interviewed or accepted positions with some great companies in local area. Job well done, we are proud!!π§ππ₯Ύ
Our seniors laying out a culvert installation for ODOT here in Allen County! A very cool project for our graduating class to get them ready for whatβs next!! π§π
Our Juniors taking down a dead tree on campus this week! π
We went out to watch a student that graduated 4 years ago show our kids what he does for a living. Alex Cogley, CET 2020, is part of ALL Demolition and Excavation, and was doing a job close to Apollo this week. He is still part of our family and gave some great insight and advice to our current CET students today. It was great catching up and seeing success in motion. ππ§
Industry partners, RD Jones Excavating, were kind enough to let our students come practice some demolition with our breaker hammer on a mountain of concrete. Our kids will also utilize this crushed concrete in various applications on the job site in the future. Great equipment, awesome curriculum, and the best partners for our program! π§π

Students from Apollo Career Center take part in cutting down a problematic tree at Camp Robin Rogers Students in Apollo Career Center's Construction Equipment Technology program had the opportunity to do this morning when they assisted Steve's Tree Care with cutting down a problematic tree at Camp
OSU Lima campus, and a great team of young people helping to keep it looking nice.
Itβs a perfect time of year for giving back to our community. Your CET kids are utilizing their skills and teamwork to help maintain & beautify the Rotary River walk woods. They also started the week with a credential in βStop-the -Bleedβ, to further their training in safety, implemented by our own Apollo Firefighter/EMS instructor and students. All of the firewood is then used at the park system campground, donated, and also sold to the public for new safety gear for our kids. ππ
A busy week for your student to learn about site-prep in construction. We have the partnerships to help us make it happen. Thanks to OHIO #811 and The Ohio Department of Transportation for helping our kids become ready for what is next. Call before you dig, and erosion control on the job site are the first things that need to happen. Hands on learning with industry professionals ! ππ§π
The last nice week of the year resulted in great training on pavement repairs for your kid. A lot of shoveling, raking , screeding, rolling, and good old fashioned teamwork to make this happen. The kids did 7 tons of hot asphalt today on our community river walk. Not to mention the cones and traffic control. π§π§ππ
A very busy week prepping your child for a great paying career. Continued pavement repairs on the river walk, community service at our park, and networking with two huge companies who are looking to hire. π§π
Mill and fill, partial depth, pavement repairs on our Rotary River Walk. All work was performed by teenagers, not bad for rookies!! The kids did a little over 4 tons of hotmix asphalt today, and will finish another load tomorrow. Great weather, excellent experience, superb resume building. ππ§
Learning to do pavement repairs at 17years oldβ¦. A very nice thing to add to a resume!ππ§
What did your kid do the first month of school? Ours, in CET, performed earthwork on I-75 with ODOT, and repaired hundreds of feet of drainage tile at OSU Lima Campus. π§π
Some new equipment this year, and a great fresh start for our seniors. This guy worked very hard in the heat Friday, and then went on to play football until 10pm that night. This is the work ethic, combined with skills, that will earn a great living at the end of the school year. π§π
A great memory for the community and our students who gained in the experience of this effort. We are very grateful and proud of this plaque. β€οΈπ§π
The St. Joseph's Cemetery Association wanted to honor the Apollo Construction Equipment Technology team who helped with the clean-up from the April tornado. Cemetery vice-president Dan Brown and secretary-treasurer Jim Steinke presented them with a plaque show our appreciation.
We have had the pleasure of meeting many incoming CET students, and their families, this week. Hearing back from our recent and past graduates on their careers is quite inspiring for these newcomers. August 23rd, we start a new batch of success. Enjoy the rest of your summer! π§ππ
Teaching a student the value of service is our core. Our program is heavily focused on giving back to our community, and even readying a student to sign on to serve our wonderful country. Serving others makes our youth stronger and even more ready for what is next. So, congratulations to Dalton Salyers for joining our military, the student concrete work at camp Robin Rogers, and to our CET students for your work with the Wapakoneta community after the tornado devastated the St Joseph Cemetery. We are humbled to be recognized and proud to have been able to help. β€οΈπ§πΊπΈ
James Schiffhauer did a great job representing our program with the public! A nice learning opportunity for your CET student doing drainage, and interacting with adults. π

Your CET kid has taken part in fixing a very wet lawn at OSU Lima this past week! Drainage repairs, field tile, and finally some sunshine to work in! π We will be finishing the school year here, and starting the new season here also. Nice project for our kids. Thanks OSU!
Branson did a great job concentrating on NOT hitting Safety Bobβs cones and barrels! ππ§
Thank you to ODOT, District 1, for allowing our students to come and test out the annual βRoadeoβ course at your facility. The kids loved it, and we even got to see our friends at Vantage too. A special thanks to Safety Bob and Alex Clayton for organizing this! Awesome experience!!!
Congratulations Richard Ryne on earning your CDL !! Richard is a natural driver and a motor head, and even makes his own cars! Sky is the limit for you Rich!! π
Dillon Bryan has a Class A CDL and is on the A honor roll! Perfect combination for his big interview Friday with a very well known entity. Good luck DB. !!!
Caleb McDorman not only earned his CDL, but has recently accepted a career with a local municipality as a road worker. Great pay and retirement direct from high school!! Congratulations Caleb !!!
Congratulations Josh Grothjan on earning your Class A CDL! Josh has been signed with a great local company and is very talented with drainage. Go Josh!
Itβs been busy the last couple of weeks with the high school CDL program, stay tuned !
These two guys have a reason to celebrate! Brandon Henicle and Wes Newton now have a CDL!! Both have careers lined up at the end of May, and both have been very good students. Talked to Wes on the phone after he passed, and his picture is exactly how he sounded on the callβ¦.very excited! What a great day for these young people! Thank you to Apollo Truck Driving Academy and the professional training this school year. π
