🚨CLOSURE🚨- Lake Mead National Recreation Area - National Park Service staff has been looking into how to address the on-going issues out at Government Wash and have been consulting with some of the off road groups. Unfortunately, there is just so much damage and crime happening that they decided to shut it down. BUT there are several off road groups they have been working with in partnership with Lake Mead. There will be meetings and outreach this Fall. There is more information to come out but wanted to share that there are positive steps happening with NV Off Road Groups and Lake Mead.

Spa day for my gear. My bag, tent and gear were weighed down with at least 5 pounds of mud. The Amazon is no place for beginners, and it certainly tested my outdoor skills. Glad to be home drying out. 💨

Cusco, Peru. Never been to Nepal but it seems like a very similar high mountain vibe. The people are surprisingly small, spirited and life is slow. That elevation though… 🤪 doing okay so far. Completely lost my toiletry bag somewhere so going to get a massage, facial and then hunt down replacements 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Peru Adventure Begins. Arrived in Lima relaxing & meeting friends. Tomorrow I fly to Cusco to meet up with David Richards then to the Manu Biological Station on a 6 hr bus ride to the start of The Amazon Canoe Challenge. It’s a 300km (217 miles) in the Amazon Rainforest on the Tambo River in traditional wood canoes for 6 days of paddling and camping. We will also get the opportunity to stay with the Indigious River Tribes along the way to learn about the impacts of deforestation, illegal mining and how climate change is impacting their way of life.
