It takes mindfulness, effort, PATIENCE 😊
consistency, dedication, motivation and definitely changing gradually eating habits that may be impeding your progress.
The ‘belly’ is fat friendly. Here is a Tip - reducing fat intake will be one of the methods (fastest/easiest) ways to reduce your total caloric payload. In other words: If you are used to having ice cream relatively every day or cream cheese with your bagel (toast) perhaps you may want to reduce the amounts considerably; or cut that out (just a thought 🤔)
Physical transformation won’t happen overnight. And that is ok, really.
Use your small improvements to stay motivated. It’s a beautiful, worthwhile and rewarding process. Take care of your body from the inside out.

IT IS NOT ABOUT THE POSTURE
👉🏽 If you ask me how it feels to accomplish a posture. I will say the posture is not the point; it’s the process. It’s about becoming conscious, from the physical to the transcendental. It’s a breakthrough and in rare cases an awakening!
The postures are the “seat” you take as you embark on the journey.
Some postures are simple to execute others may take a while. It will all depend on consistency, discipline, previous injuries, optimal health or the opposite. The goals, the mindsets, are different according to each individual.
Putting the time to practice is pivotal. Other factors to take under consideration are the fear of failure (falling),attachments (not letting go) control/high expectations (staying in the comfort-zone),ego/judgements (feeling less than or better than) & so forth. A shift in perspective is suggested. An ‘open mind and heart’. I’ve had to cultivate tolerance, patience, with my mind, body, and ideals. Yoga brings the light so I can observe/uncover and discover old patterns, it is not always a flow, graceful or beautiful (not at all) It is what it is!!!! Self acceptance has to come first. You get to know your personality traits (the good ones and the ones you keep to yourself) it is through the physical body that we start this process of transformation. Yoga is (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) sacred geometry organized as a sequence of postures to get all main systems in the body to function harmoniously. That way you can focus on what truly matters. One question I always come back to is: Why am I doing this? Because I want to experience freedom - Today I can close my eyes sit with myself and go to a place of peace and calm that I can only access through the practice. I thank YOGA for giving me the key to experience/feel my authentic self, to embrace my spirit fully and live in gratitude for knowing that it is all within, the greatest potential is in my heart, LOVE is a guiding force & I make an effort to follow it. Go ahead get the most out of your practice. You will get from it what ever you put in to it; be consistent, one breath at a time, one posture at a time. Don’t rush, practice with purpose.

Recently purchased a singing bowl it’s wonderful to use at the end of a yoga class while in ‘corpse pose’ or seated meditation. I chose a crystal bowl tuned to the key F, the vibrational frequency link to the heart chakra 💚 the vibrational sound and frequency aids in healing experiences like: grief, codependency, toxic relationships, heartbreak, assisting the person to breakdown the walls created around this energy center and allowing it to find its natural flow. A sound bath can be calming, peaceful and meditative. Here is a bit more info on The ANAHATA CHAKRA Sanskrit word for HEART CHAKRA - The main meanings or functions associated with the heart chakra are:
•Love for oneself and others
•Relating, relationships
•Compassion, empathy
•Forgiveness, acceptance
•Transformation, change
•Ability to grieve and reach peace
•Compassionate discernment
•Center of awareness, integration of insights

PEACOCK POSE : MAYURASANA : ARM BALANCE - Why I practice? To become aware, more conscious of the body, my thoughts, my internal dialogue. It is while I am practicing challenging postures that I get to notice the quality of my thoughts - - - and more so how I manage my self talk and ego in my yoga practice correlates to my attitude and perspective outside of the yoga mat. We become vigilant of our personalities on the mat and work on let it go of those traits of the character that holds us back - - - traits like: Ego, failure, negative self talk, superiority complex, lack of confidence, fear, slackness and so forth. It’s a daily practice to stay conscious and aware of our inner state, it’s our responsibility to evolve and transcend. When we get straightened up we become the change we wish to see in the world.
