The willingness to experience discomfort might be the most useful skill a person can develop.
We all crave safety and comfort, but what if you always stayed there? In the shallows. Never going deeper. Would you ever really know what you’re capable of?
Last week my son decided he was done with the shallows, he was ready to play in the white wash and small waves. He’s only 5 and as his mother my initial reaction was to tell him no 🫣 except this was his chance to experience some discomfort and grow.
The result: he got tossed around a little, called for help once, but ultimately he learned he doesn’t need to be scared of the ocean, he can hang with the other kids but he has to respect it. He came out of that experience a more confident kid with a few scrapes and a ton of sand in his pockets.

For 11 years as a practicing dietitian I’ve spoken with thousands of people regarding their health.
Too often they refer back to a time in their life when:
1. In high school
2. In college (but now 50+)
3. When they played sports
4. Before marriage
5. Before kids
Those “years ago” is a fine place to go to remember what your body was able to do once. But you’re not who you were then. No matter how you slice it. For better or worse.
Was what you want now, your priority for all those years between? Because if it wasn’t, you better have patience to have it again or achieve it finally.

It wasn’t that long ago that I asked if he thought I’d ever be skinny again, I just wasn’t feeling myself and of course his reply was the best
“Babe, you are skinny. Plus you look great as a mom of 2” 🙄 cue the perfect spouse response.
Humans love to self sabotage. And what they love even more than self sabotage is being able to blame someone else for their own lack of action.
The truth is, it’s not your spouses fault, or your kids - it’s yours. And until you decide you want whatever lies on the other side of taking ACTION, it’s much easier to blame someone else for your inaction.
Instead , I encourage you to have the conversation and ask for the support you’re looking for. I bet you’d be surprised by the response you’ll get ♥️

It’s reasons like this that pushed us to launch the 12-week beta competition. Because health and wellness look different for everyone depending on the season they’re in.
This past weekend we traveled and our routine was shifted. We didn’t have our gym or access to all our normal foods but we did what we could with what we had.
1. We logged our steps 👟and walked anywhere we possibly could with both kids in the stroller (at least an extra 45lbs)
2. We drank our 💧 9.5 alkaline electrolyzed water thanks to and his big ass gallon
3. We made healthy food choices when we could but still enjoyed our Newport cookies 🍪 and 🦞 Maine ice cream 🍦sandwiches
4. Went for a run and did hill sprints (not me, y’all know I don’t run unless someone’s chasing me 🤣)

I’m not sure what took him so long, but I finally convinced to come back to his roots of coaching and join the family business. With his extensive background both in playing and coaching, it only seemed natural to bring him on. Nick played both basketball and football throughout high school and college, graduating with a degree in Sports Management & a focus in Coaching - interning at Strength & Conditioning and continuing on to Coach at
