GREAT NEWS! We're running a multi sport holiday camp at St Andrew's Anglican College in the second week of the upcoming school holidays.
With a focus on the physical development of your children, our new multi sport holiday camp is designed to keep your child exploring, playing, participating and having fun, while developing their teamwork, physical literacy and fitness skills - all with a smile on their face!
This program is run by highly qualified coaches and directed by Harry Weatherstone; founder of the Youth Athletic Development Academy, and Glenn Irwin; director of St Andrew's Anglican College Tennis and Noosa Springs Tennis, as well as Kindy Allstars.

This year we are again competing in the Sunshine Coast Schools Tennis Championships which is a weekly Tennis competition each Wednesday afternoon throughout Term 2

Who: This is available to all Year 5 – 12 students.
Matches: Every Wednesday commencing on 2nd May to 20 June (FINALS) inclusive. Matches commence at 4.00pm and will conclude at 6.00pm
Teams: St Andrew’s will be nominating a number of teams to play in a range of divisions and our Tennis Coordinator, Glenn Irwin will create teams.
PLEASE NOTE - we are restricted to the number of teams we can enter.
Teams will mixed or single s*x and will consist of 4 players with at least one reserve.
‘A’ division: elite level [typically this level would include players who have tournament experience).
‘B’ division: intermediate level [typically this level would include developing players ).
‘C’ division: entry level [typically, this level would have inexperienced players new to the game or those hoping for some social fun).
Years 5 and 6 teams
Format: Matches will take place Home and Away, Round Robin. Players will play 1 x Fast4 Doubles and 1x Reverse Doubles; 1 x Singles match, First to 6, tie break at 5-5
Venues: Each ‘B’ and ‘C’ grade team will play either home at St Andrew’s / Coolum tennis club or away. ‘A’ grade teams will operate out of a central venue [tba].
Transport: Players and families are asked to make their own travel arrangements each week to and from the various venues.
Cost: Cost for the entire season will be just $25 and this will be billed to your College account.
Uniform: All players are expected to wear Red Sport uniform to play. Non St Andrew’s uniform items are not permitted.

A great start to Term 2 Tennis. Plenty of highlights this afternoon but it was particularly great to see our hotshots students graduate into squads for their first session. There were some nerves but wonderful to see our young players step out of their comfort zones and thrive. Well done all

We would like to welcome to our new Grand Slam Preps students and all new students who will join the academy and I am sure that existing players and families will welcome them on court.

PLAY fast 4 on FRIDAY night at St Andrew’s!
Friday FAST 4 has been a fantastic experience for all players involved who have previously taken part.
The FAST 4 format allows for many matches, both singles and doubles in a shorter period of time and helps players move into Junior tournaments, as well
as improve their match play skills for players already competing in tournaments.
Term 1 competition will start
Division 2-5 Friday 2 February 3:15-5:00pm at St Andrew’s
Division 5-7 Saturday 3 February 8:00-10:00am at Noosa Springs
This Competition has two categories for cater for varying age and standards. Students are supervised by the coaching team. Weekly prizes are awarded
for attitude, sportsmanship, footwork, team work etc. Cost is $15 per session or $95 for term. If you have any questions regarding standards and divisions please do not hesitate contact the coaching staff.

INFORMATION AND REGISTERING FOR SPORT
A very warm welcome to all St Andrew’s families to St Andrew’s Sport in 2018. We are very excited about the year ahead, as we look to grow and develop the Sport program, opportunities and positive experiences throughout the year for all our students and families.
We are delighted to welcome two wonderful new staff to the Sport department.
Mrs Carolyn Digby is our new Sports administrator and comes with a wealth of knowledge through her Sports administrator role at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. Carolyn can be contacted through [email protected]
We also welcome Miss Margo Mackintosh [email protected] as our new Assistant Director of Sport P-12. Margo is an Australian Triathlete and comes to us after being Head of Sport at All Hallows’ School in Brisbane. I am sure that our community will make them feel very welcome.

HERVEY BAY JUNIOR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS July 28, 29 & 30 2017
An exciting opportunity exists for our tennis players to compete in the Hervey Bay junior championships!
Players can enter a maximum of 2 events and I would encourage all players to play both singles and doubles.
Age groups include; 10s, 12s, 14s & 16s all of which have doubles events as well.
We will be travelling as a team and as coaches we expect impeccable sportsmanship and behaviour from all players whilst playing matches, watching matches and at the hotel.

The future of tennis?
Would love to see lots of St Andrew's students looking after Rafa and many other players at the brilliant Brisbane International - Australian Open Series later this year. Mr Robson coordinates the ballkids in Brisbane, so feel free to email or chat to him if you have any questions. It is such a great experience. Applications are open until the end of July and is great for students turning 12 to 16. Get online and register now!
