Lao Tzu the librarian was fleeing what he considered certain death. (please click "About" for Description) He stated that The Way came before gods.
An authority requested that he define ancient wisdom by recalling beliefs of past wise men or Sages. Upon a few short pages, Lao Tzu defined the Tao, or The Way, once considered to be the philosophy or religion of the Chinese people. It describes a method of life for the common man, and of governing for a leader. Lao Tzu may have intended some cross over, because in some way we all act as leaders.
