Stourbridge Swimming Club

Love swimming? Looking to improve or for an opportunity to try swimming competitively? Look no further!

We're a family friendly club, suitable for children age 4+. During sessions for younger swimmers their coach is in the pool and they have lots of fun while earning their swim England badges!

As they progress our dedicated team are on hand to support our older and more experienced swimmers at galas, and if they're keen, to compete at a local, county or even regional level.

The "Three Counties ' gala is an annual competition between Worcester County, Staffordshire and Gloucestershire.

Luke M was also selected but unfortunately had to withdraw through injury.

Ann Pollard is ready for round 2 of the school summer fairs tomorrow. This time at Milking Bank Primary School, where a few of our swimmers are from.

Massive congratulations to all those who swam last night at our final round of Nuneaton and Diddy league. There were amazing swims from all with not a single disqualification all night! Massive well done for our first year in Division 1 since 2017!

We're really excited to be recruiting new members of all ages and abilities to the club!!

Lessons are from 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon at Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre and they're a great opportunity for children to gain water confidence and become a stronger swimmer.

A great opportunity for our competitive swimmers today as they get the chance to train in a 50 metre pool at Sandwell Aquatics Centre - a fantastic facility that we're lucky to be able to access. Today is the second of three sessions, thanks to the centre for supporting us!

This , we want to thank all of our fabulous volunteers who generously give up their time to support the club.

We depend on the support of a large group of volunteers to be able to operate and provide the foundations of a community where swimming is the core focus.

Roles vary from our fundraising committee, executive committee, officiating, parent rep support, communications officer, and assisting at our open events and club championships.

There are also trained volunteers such as swim teachers, coaches, and team managers who give their time to support swimmers in training and at competitions.

With World Championships on this week, here’s your reminder to work on building a world championship mindset.


Every swimmer experiences a mental tug-of-war between what is important and what is easy each swim.

Here’s what it means:

Amateurs have goals. They can tell you about the things that they want to achieve… the things they could achieve.

Pros tell you about their goals… but then explain the systems in place to make them happen. They have a clear idea of what is done each day for maximum success in training and competition.

This means:
Build a schedule. Don’t wait to feel inspired to show up. They build a schedule for success and stick to it. Hit the metres every session.

Cultivate high-grade habits. Focus on habits and routines and use them every session!

Progression. How are you going to move forwards. A slightly faster interval. Adding 10 minutes of mobility work pre and post-swim. Meal prepping for healthier meals.

County Team Champs 2023

WOW! Your HISTORY MAKING class of 2023!

What a weekend! We beat our previous best ever finish at the County Team Champs, finishing in 12th place in Division 1 with 315 points. Several excellent swims, great team ethos and togetherness. All swimmers were a credit to their county and home programmes. Well done everyone involved!

Both swimmers achieved the runner up spots in the West Midlands Region.
