Education enables participation and ultimately provides an opportunity for social transformation, peace building and the development of lifelong skills and partnerships. Echo Bravo subscribes to the Kampala Declaration and extends it to all children and young people in difficult circumstances. This work includes education in the most difficult circumstances, whether slow-burn situations such as in displaced camps and slum areas or in situations of crisis during and after civil conflict and natural disasters. EB bridges the gap between humanitarian intervention and development. Training teachers, language teaching, life skills education and livelihood skills are all our areas of specialty. EB has experience working with refugees, displaced people, street children and orphans. Echo Bravo’s approach to implementation is an integrated approach such that both programs complement each other considering the fact that livelihoods and education go hand in hand. The approach is specifically selected so as to be able to meet the needs of our target beneficiaries (Children, youth, formerly abducted persons, orphans and a specific set of vulnerable persons). With this approach, Echo Bravo has been able to tailor make some of the activities to suit the interest of our beneficiaries without any push towards restrictions.
