While we did not react, the part played by the security personnel deployed to man the government quarters is troublesome and highly condemnable”, he said.“The government needs to ensurethat better protection is provided so that no Kashmiri employee is harmed”.

A 21-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-r***d over a period of six months by doctor and two policemen committed su***de at her home on Thursday.
It is to be noted that r**e case was filed in January 2015, after six month of the gang-r**e incident, against Gautam Pandit, doctor and two constables. In her complaint she said that she was gang-r***d when she was admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Supela. She was a college student at that time. She had gone for treatment for her face.
She alleged that she was given a drug and r***d by the three accused. They also filmed the act to blackmail her. She also alleged that she was blackmailed and gang-r***d several times even after she left the hospital.
It is to be noted that FIR was launched in January 2015 and three accused was sent to jail but she wrote in her su***de note that she did not think she would get justice. She committed su***de by hanging in a room at her home.
However, police officers is suspicious that there might be a pressure on the girl to withdraw the case as girl’s relatives have in the past alleged that they were pressured to withdraw the case. Meanwhile Pradeep Gupta, IG of Police, Durg said that law will take its course.

'Deadly' attack rocks mosque in Saudi ArabiaSaudi Arabia, January 29: At least three people have been killed in an attack on a mosque in al-Ahsa, eastern Saudi Arabia, according to a report by the Al Arabiya news organisation. An activist, citing witnesses, separately told the Reuters news agency earlier on Friday that an explosion was followed by gun attack on Imam Rida Mosque in the town of Mahasen in al-Ahsa region in the Eastern Province.Residents said security forces were exchanging gunfire with five "terrorists".Security officials told the Associated Press news agency that the three dead was an initial toll. They spoke on condition of anonymity as a formal announcement had yet to be made.Witness Mohammed al-Nimr told The Associated Press that security forces and ambulances quickly surrounded the mosque. He said that it was a shooting and that worshippers stopped the attacker from detonating a su***de bomb belt.No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack
Pakistan's former defence secretaries want the government to be extra cautious in pursuing a normalisation process with India, saying they do not see a major shift in New Delhi's policy on its ties with the country, Dawn reported on Friday.Speaking at a seminar organised by the Strategic Vision Institute (SVI) on ‘Impasse in Pak-India ties – Implications for Regional Diplomacy and Strategic Stability’, former defence secretary retired Lt.General Asif Yasin Malik called for “open and extensive” debate within the country on its relations with India.“There has to be a people-driven national vision, not a government-driven (one),” he added. The seminar was held on the third anniversary of the Islamabad-based think tank which specialises in security and strategic affairs.Pakistan and India are on the verge of resuming their peace dialogue under the tag of ‘Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue’. The talks were delayed by the Pathankot attack, but high-level contact between thetwo countries — which began with a meeting between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the Paris Climate Summit in November last year, has given the impression of new momentum in bilateral ties, the report said. However, Malik cautioned that no radical shift in ties was expected, although there could be minor improvement caused by expediencies of the international environment. For Pakistan, “bending is not an option; either forward or backwards. We bend and we get a kick,” Malik, who retired as defence secretary in 2014, said.He recalled Prime Minister Modi’s belligerent posture towards Pakistan during his election campaign, when he talked about making Pakistan irrelevant in a geo-political context at both the regional and national levels. He said India continued to play “cat and mouse” in ties with Pakistan.Malik listed a number of measures he expected the government to undertake — both internally and externally — in order to effectively deal with the challenge posed by India: de-linking Pak-Afghan ties from the Pak-India relationship, safeguarding the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) from sabotage, tackling political fissures over CPEC, pursuing water security more seriously, and appointing a full-time foreign minister.Retired Lt. Gen Naeem Lodhi, another former defence secretary, echoed Malik when he noted that there was no détente in sight. In his view, the answer lay in the leadership of both countries ending the “blame game” and approaching the relationship with fresh and open minds.“The imbalance of size and political clout highly in favour of India begs third party facilitation to veer these two nuclear powers away from confrontational mode. There seems to be no other option,” he said.
At least a dozen people were killed following su***de attacks in Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno, security sources and a rescue team coordinator said Wednesday.Hassan Chibok, a rescue team leader, said12 bodies were found during rescue operation in Chibok town but the death tollmight increase afterwards. The number of injured people so far rescued has reached 28.Two unnamed security officers told Xinhua five su***de bombers were suspected to have entered Chibok on its weekly market day but only three detonated their improvised explosive devices, wreaking havoc on the town. The two other suspected su***de bombers, yet to be apprehended, immediately fled the scene, the security officers said. One of the bombers detonated an improvised explosive device right inside a local market, said a witness identified as Manasseh Hassan. Another bomber blew himself up at a security checkpoint, hitting a "soft target", while the third bomber detonated his improvised explosive device near the same market, out of fear of being lynched.Local residents are blaming the attack on Boko Haram, a terror group which has proved to be a hard nut to crack in Nigeria since 2009.More than 200 school girls were abductedfrom Chibok town 21 months ago by Boko Haram. The abduction has aroused international outrage.None of the missing girls has been found, although government said it is making efforts to know their whereabouts and ensure their freedom.
Ahead of a court verdict on the gang-r**e and murder of a college student, protestors have clashed with the police in Kolkata. The protestors are members of the Left's student wing.In 2013, a college student was abducted on her way home from classes and taken to an isolated factory where she was gang-r***d and then killed in a village in Kamduni, about 30 km from Kolkata. Her body was found that night by her brother. The case triggered public anger and demonstrations demanding better safety for women, after which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the home of the dead student; she controversially declareddemonstrators during that visit as"Maoists", provoking a backlash and a new wave of protests.Eight men have been charged with the r**e and murder; a ninth suspect died in jail during the trial.
A senior police officer was among two policemen injured when suspected anti-India rebels attacked government forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday. An official told Kashmir Dispatch that rebels attacked a team of police which was onpatrol in Sadar Bazar locality of the southern district, about 80 kms from here.“In the exchange of fire a sub divisional police officer and a policeman were inured,” he said. The officer, Irshad Ahmad, was on a patrol when the rebels fired, another official said.He said Ahmad, the sub divisional police officer, received critical bullet wounds and was shifted to a hospital in region’s summer capital Srinagar.A top police officer told Kashmir Dispatch that his team was on a patrol in the area as Eid-Milad-un-Nabi rallies were scheduled.
