Here’s a yummy alternative to cheesecake that I love. This cheezecake is dairy free and has only six ingredients (it’s loosely based off of ):
Cashews.
Coconut milk 🥥
Almonds or Walnuts
Honey 🍯 (or Maple syrup)
Dates
I did some experimenting with blueberry and strawberry 🍓 /raspberry options. It’s packed with nuts (cashews, almonds and walnuts) so you’re getting a healthy dose of fiber, protein, MUFAs, and omega 3s!
😋
While it still is a high calorie, high fat food, at least you’ll be eating whole plant based foods. So, it’s a great way to indulge your tastebuds.
😋
I had it for breakfast after yoga and really keeps you satisfied for the whole morning 🌞
😋
It’s kid and adult approved so it also makes a great dessert for the holiday season and is a great option for workplace potlucks or just as tasty treats for your loved ones!
Five Tips to Motivate you to Workout. We all know the recommendations: 150 minutes of moderate activity and at least two sessions of resistance training a week while keeping up with our 10,000 steps. With escalators parked in front of the gym and a million (non-fitness related) items on our to do list, it can seem like a miracle that we get any steps in at all. [ 999 more words ]

I’m always looking for good books 📖 to read. My alumni reading club suggested this, and so far so good! 😊
📖
I chose since I’m all about everyday ways to stay centered regardless of whatever craziness 😜 life throws your way. There’s no a quick fix; like anything worth it, staying mindful through hard times takes consistency and effort.
📖
I also learnt about MARC, a center at that fosters collaborations between scientist and mindfulness experts to promote a more robust sense of wellness for their community.
📖
Mindfulness is like any muscle you build over time. So here I am doing the work to reap the benefit.
What’s on your reading list this Sunday?
Ever feel lost 🤷🏾♀️ about what you should focus on when reading a nutrition label? With multiple changes rolling out and health experts changing their minds daily it can get quite confusing to know what to focus on!
✨
New on the blog is a quick guide 📖 to reading nutrition labels. (Head over to my page to check it out!)
✨
I get asked this question a to and now I’m laying it all out for you!
✨
What do you look for when flipping over a box or bag at the grocery store?
Beautiful reminder on this Friday evening. No matter what you’ve been through this week or what you are facing in the next, never forget that beauty and joy are trying to peek their tenacious light 💡 into your day.
Go forth and enjoy your weekend!
Who likes playing around in the kitchen? 🙋🏾♀️
The other night, I made cauliflower “steak,” Brussels sprouts and cauliflower mash with a bok choy and spinach stir fry. While I loosely based it off a recipe online, I ended up not having about half the ingredients and substituting in odds and ends, and then completely ignoring the steps I was supposed to follow. I love how magic can happen in the kitchen when you’re playing around!
And, no, cauliflower “steak” tastes nothing like steak. But, everyone seemed to like it! 😆
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine 😊
Here’s to a week of sharing authentically and reaching with both hands for your dreams. Everything is possible when you believe it is. One step at a time— faith (in yourself) is your reward.
This was a lovely reminder from a friend today. Love is already within you- express it today and every day 💗

🚣 pose or is day 4 of . Sometimes self care means some tough love- showing up for yourself when you’re tired or just want to give up. Navasana challenges your strength while asking you to breathe into the discomfort. But, the more work you put in the more fire you realize you have in you! Here’s to the work of self care- may you continue to engage in it every single day!!

Day 2 ( a little late) of are the three or . Apart being a total body workout these 3 fierce poses have an interesting history (which I only recently learnt about during a lively recreation during ).
⚔️
The three poses represent the fierce warrior Virabhadra, who was sent by Shiva to avenge his true love, Sita. She had been driven to su***de after her father, King Daksha, disproved of her marriage to Shiva.
⚔️
Virabhadra crashed King Daksha’s party, by bursting forth from the ground, sword held to the sky ( ).
⚔️
He then stood, ready to attack with his sword held to his back and his adversary in his crosshairs. ( ).
⚔️
Finally, he lifted his sword and struck forwards with great might, defeating the king ( ).
Here is my attempt to recreate the epic story😂.

Reminder to self: there is still so much love in this world.
❤️
Does anyone else look at cute images of animals before reading the news to make it all a little easier to bear?
❤️
To those who have sorrow in their hearts today - love is still here.
@ Ram Jhula
The older you get the more you realize that you really can’t love or respect anyone else until you first find that love and respect within yourself.
✨
We sometimes forget how awesomely we are made and my wish for myself and everyone else on this planet is that we are constantly amazed at how strong, beautiful and inspiring we are.
✨
Never forget the amazing being that you are and let this be a reminder that you are surrounded by 7 billion other beings that have their own story, their their own light and their wisdom to share. When you find that in yourself, you spontaneously find it in others.
✨
When we inhabit this space, selfishness becomes so expansive that it becomes an act of love that encompasses all.
✨
It’s amazing.

Thanks and gratitude to Roshan for putting this feeling into words
Yoga 🧘🏾♀️ teacher training complete and now the practice begins: bringing awareness to my breath, my thoughts, my beliefs, my judgements and realizing- I am not that; I am so much more. The practice of yoga is more than physical asanas (poses) and while they are part of a beautiful practice that strengthen the body and help calm the mind, they are just the tip beginning.
Teacher training was so much more than I ever could have imagined- a breath of fresh air and a meeting of fearless and inspiring souls that blew me away each day with the truth they embodied. I will be forever grateful for the month I spent deepening my practice and learning from them.
Next step: bringing yoga into the everyday and using it as a tool for healing as a healthcoach 👩🏾⚕️.

Spices are the key to life. In Rishikesh, I stopped by Jain Spice Shop. To say it smelt amazing in this shop is a huge understatement!
India is well known for it’s tasty 😋 and healing 🏃🏾♀️array of spices from cinnamon to cardamom and turmeric. I can’t wait to make chai ☕️ and Chana masala.
What’s your favorite spice and how do you like to eat it?
@ Lakshman Jhula
I’m back from yoga teacher training and feel so blessed to have had wonderful teachers and been exposed to a more complete understanding of yoga. In honor of this, new o the blog: 3 steps to cultivate gratitude. With Thanksgiving 🙏🏾 around the corner, how do you practice gratitude?

So many of us wish for absolute certainty- to know what it is we should do, whether in career, love, for our community and the list goes on.
🌙
What if we admit we don’t know and embrace it?
🌙
What would that look like? For you? For this 🌎?
Remember when food made you feel good after eating it?
This fresh pesto ribbon 🥗 inspired by is refreshing and leaves you energized. Its also easy to make and delicious 😋

It’s October, and we all know that comes with sugary sweet treats weeks before Halloween 🎃 officially arrives! New on the blog are not one, but three Fall friendly goodies 🍭 for the whole family that are antioxidant and vitamin rich, and won’t leave you spooked 😱.

What’s your favorite fall treat? (Pumpkin bread for 🙋🏾♀️)
What are you seeking? What has become unacceptable in life?
🌙
We sometimes claim we want change or want to accomplish something, yet we lose that zeal when we learn to “accept” things that don’t serve us.
🌙
When we resign ourselves to the status quo- not eating to live, not educating ourselves about the political process, ignoring the state of the earth or civil rights- we stop seeking.
🌙
Seeking means putting out your feelers and looking for a better way. It doesn’t have to be perfect- you can still eat a cookie or drive your car- but it is better. Seeking involves thought, consideration and a sense that we are in this life together and we’ve got to work together to make any meaningful changes.
🌙
Ps: this quote is from in his book 📖 . It’s an incredible story about a man, paralyzed from the chest down, who becomes a yoga 🧘♂️ teacher.
Happy 😊 Sunday!
Opening my heart to the weekend! Happy Friday ☀️ 🧘🏾♀️.
Ever feel like you’re rushed at the doctor’s 👩⚕️ and draw a blank even though you have a ton of questions 💭? Well, never fear: New on the blog is “Top 5 questions to ask your doc at your next appointment.” Find out the five via the link in my bio➡️
With such quick 💨 and easy information so easily available at a click of a button, this comes up a lot. We sometimes take what we encounter on 📺 or online as fact without inquiring, doing our research and ultimately getting in touch with our own deep abiding wisdom. What works for you may not be the same as what works for someone else. And that’s ok 👌🏾! We all have our little quirks and we all need to do the work to find what nurtures us.
Dr. Google can’t figure it out for us. Of course, these technologies are amazing and are revolutionizing information sharing, but remember the wisdom you have inside you to intuitively heal yourself.
You already have the tools you need- liberate them!
I love travelling! I get to peek into different cultures and expand my world view. There’s no substitute for it! Flying gets you where you want to be fast but it does come with a few pet peeves, like long lines, cramped 💺, and last minute gate changes to name a few. To fly well, here are a healthy tips I try to stick to.
✈️
1. Stay hydrated. Although you’re not moving a ton, the high altitude and cabin pressure can get you dehydrated. 💦 Drink as much as you can before the flight, buy a bottle of water or opt for water for your beverage choice!
✈️
2. Move your body!🤸🏻♀️ If you’re going to be on a longer flight, get up and walk down the aisle about every 2-3 hours! Bend down to touch your toes, do calf raises or make friends on the bathroom line.
✈️
3. Pack some vitamin C, echinacea, garlic (pills, for your neighbor’s sake!), reishi or your immune booster of choice and take it before you get on the flight. An enclosed space with a lot of people and recycled air is a great recipe for upper respiratory infections. 😷 Make sure your immune system is prepared!
✈️
4. Have tasty and healthy snacks at the ready. Make sure you’ve got some fruits, nuts 🥜 or even a home cooked 🥘 to keep the munchies away. Not only is airplane food overpriced 💰, but like most grocery stores and fast food restaurants, junk food is front and center, making it difficult to resist temptation when you are hungry and waiting on a delayed flight.
✈️
5. Relax and enjoy the flight. Let go 🧘🏾♀️ and accept that you are completely not in control. You can’t do anything about delayed flights, air traffic control hiccups or mechanical errors. You will get there when you get there! Have a good book and travel pillowat the ready and enjoy the friendly skies!

You have wings; are you aware of them?
Watching this breathtaking 🦅 fly after being rescued by the made me wonder what I am capable of if I don’t let my fears control my actions.
The condor is the largest flying bird and is almost on the brink of extinction, yet it still soars in captivity.
When we take power away from our fears, there can be no limit to the height we soar.
How will you soar into this new week?✨
I love this quote from the eternal optimist, Anne Frank.

As I travel to I am amazed at how outright beautiful our world 🌎 is.

Yet, this quote is a great reminder that we don’t have to travel anywhere to find beauty; it’s all around us if we are open to seeing it!
