Melissa Ray- Colorado State Manager, The Beverage Agency
Melissa has been in the Service Industry since the age of fifteen, she has spent 20 of those years working behind the Bar and managing Spirit Brands. When Agave Brands fell upon her, she realized she had a true passion for the Spirits of Mexico. Having represented Agave brands in the Tequila, Mezcal, Bacanora and Sotol Categories for the last 8 years, her love for educating people about Agave has grown even stronger.
Melissa is originally from Baltimore, MD, is active in The USBG and local bartending communities. She is Bar Smarts Certified and has participated in many educational conferences including Camp Runamok, Portland Cocktail Week, Tales of the Cocktail, Bar Methods and Cocktails in the Country.
She currently works on Bladnoch Scotch, Pure Scot Blended Scotch, Wolves Whiskey, The Lost Explorer Mezcal, Cazcabel Tequila, Alida Tequila, Kilinga Bacanora and Highclere Castle Gin.
Please know that these events are open to anyone in the Industry or who may want to be and enthusiast member in the possible future. In 2023 we want to show you our commitment in sharing education and we as a Chapter Board want to show people the value of a membership in the United States Bartenders Guild.

Hey industry friends! Mark your calendars! We want you to know that two of Colorado spring’s very own bartenders, Regan Capozzella from Brooklyn’s on Boulder and Callie Isaac from 503W are competing in SPEED RACK!
Speed Rack is an exclusively woman high-speed bartending competition designed to highlight up-and-coming self-identifying females in the cocktail industry and give back to those impacted by breast cancer. As always, the competition in Speed Rack promises to be fierce, but so does the fundraising. To date, Speed Rack has raised over $1,000,000 for charities supporting breast cancer research.
Tickets are not yet available for purchase but we will update you as soon as we know more.

Tiki By The Sea is a three day invite-only experience for bar professionals. Our focus is to build the community through education on sugar cane spirits, Tiki culture and tropical drinks. Education is our focal point sprinkled in summer fun in Wildwood, NJ and Fregene, Italy with a diverse set of 50 attendees per weekend in June (NJ) and September (EU) !
Tiki by the Sea is a 3-day invite-only bartender experience in Wildwood, NJ, held at the Barcelona Hotel. We will have two separate waves of Tiki by the Sea. Each weekend will be very similar in experiences so you should indicate if you are able to attend both or indicate a particular weekend if you have a preference. All applications are reviewed blind, so please answer as thoroughly as possible.

Colorado Springs! It’s the season of giving and with this crazy weather coming in, I want to do a VERY quick drive for money for blankets for our homeless. I will go to costco to buy as many blankets as I can and if you can donate coats that is much appreciated. We NEED to take care of them as they are homeless and can’t take care of themselves. I will also be printing all the shelters so they can find a safe place for themselves and their furry family. Thank you all!

The Official Group of the Colorado Springs Chapter of the USBG
About USBG -
The United States Bartenders’ Guild seeks to enhance the image of the bartending profession to the public and to heavily support the wine and spirits industry and related trades. The USBG’s purpose is to improve customer-bartender relations and increase the prestige and knowledge of practicing bartenders. The USBG has a great working relationship with all facets of the liquor industry and we encourage our members to work closely with supporters of the guild and their brands to advance our industry.
STORY -
Bartenders who measure up to USBG’s high standards are able to join an organization that promotes a feeling of comradeship and even of family among its members. Chapter members form a network of colleagues who lend each other moral support, share their creative expertise, meet socially, and offer informal professional assistance to each other across the country.
Of course, most individuals join because of their proficiency as bartenders and their dedication to the art of mixology. Our annual cocktail competition is the high point of the USBG’s national calendar but members participate in many other local and national events during the year, such as educational and promotional events sponsored by active supporters of the USBG.
Our members are dedicated to the craft of mixology, beer, & wine and through continuous education and competition amongst peers we will continue to drive the industry standard to new levels of acknowledgement.
