This was after locals set one live ammunition on fire on Friday. Luckily, no accident occurred as a result.

Police authorities in Lakes State have reported that three people have died of rabies in Yirol West County after a stray dog bit them Pane Kaar village nearly two weeks ago.

At least five people were bitten by the stray dog that day. They were rushed to a hospital in Yirol town, where doctors could not help them due to lack of vaccine.

Different parts of South Sudan have also been receiving threatening news of dog bites.

A plane carrying three travelers and two crew members crashed while trying to land this Monday Evening at Walagak, Akobo West in Jonglei State. The incident happened at around 4 PM.
Both travelers and crew members are safe with minor injuries. This was confirmed by Jonglei State Minister for Information Honorable Nyadak John Jock.

Bank of South Sudan Governor wins Best Bank Governor in Africa

The Bank of South Sudan governor, Ohisa Damian, was voted the best governor of African Central Banks.

Ohisa, who was appointed to the position last year, won the Central Bank Governor of the Year Award.

The award is organized by the African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA).

The recognition comes at a time when the local currency is taking a tumble against major global and regional currencies.

As of Wednesday, July 12, one US dollar was retailing at 1007 while one Kenyan shilling was trading at 7.15 against the pound.

Most South Sudanese are grappling with the high cost of living caused by hyperinflation.

Mingkaman 100 FM helps a forgotten Soldier to secure his first brand-new telephone after a Well-wisher read his sad story of being left out of the payroll since 2005 despite being a veteran soldier. James Majok Jok said he tried all the means to get his name entered into the payroll but he was denied.

He is currently in Mingkaman town with his family.

He believes that one day, he may be enrolled in the system and get his benefit.
