Update - George Banasky Funeral Services
Sorry for the delay in updating every one on George Banasky’s services. There have been lots of moving parts.
We have been informed that George's funeral will be on Dec 18th at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven. Currently, there is no obituary on Floral Haven's website.

The reason for the delay in information was that arrangements had not been made through the funeral home yet with the VA for transport to Ft Gibson where he wanted to be buried. That has now been set in motion and we are told they are waiting for the authorization to be able to transport George to Ft Gibson after the services.

In response to Ben Guthrie's services, we have not heard anything, and no obituaries are showing up. If anyone has any updates please let us know.

Col. John D. Bartrug, Ret passed away on November 19, 2023. John was Commander of the 219th EI Sqdn when it transferred from WRANGB to Tulsa Air Guard Base. Don't know if he was a Silver Beaver. He was a past President of the Gray Eagles.
Thought some of the troops up there would like to know.
Hate to hear about George's passing. He was a great guy!

We hate to hear this and it is with great sadness to inform you that we have lost two more of our retirees from 138th.
George Banasky passed away Sat morning and Ben Guthrie passed away this last week.
They were good guys and will be missed by their family and everyone who knew and loved them.
As soon as we hear about any arrangements we will let you know.

This year's Tulsa Veteran's Day Parade went beautifully under a clear blue sky and the melody of the Oklahoma WWII Airborne Demonstration Team's C-49 "Wild Kat" orbiting overhead (C-49s were slightly different from C-47s in that they were built as civilian airliners and pressed into military service during WWII).
Of the 4618 persons registered to participate (more likely joined in), nine TANGRA members including family, represented our organization as well as the Tulsa Air National Guard.
The lead car was Vince Williams with TANGRA president Hardy Johnson & Bill Pell. 2nd was Doug Johnson with Bill Wise. 3rd was our treasurer Tom Roark & his wife Donna, and 4th was my daughter Tricia Cannon & me.
Our sincere thanks to all U.S. Veterans & their families, the parade organizers, participants, and the thousands of patriotic Tulsans lining the parade route, who continue to make this one of our nation's largest and oldest Veteran’s Day parades, 105 years now.

Dear SB's,
I want to make sure everyone knows that although Veteran's Day is Sat November 11th, this year the holiday and Tulsa's Veterans Day parade is Friday, Nov 10th.
TANGRA will participate again and currently, all available seats are filled for ride-alongs.
Weather is forecast to be good if you'd like to join the huge presence on the sidewalks of downtown while Channel 8 will broadcast the entire parade that begins at 11:00 AM.

These are pictures of Jack I took in 1978 while he was testing an A-7. He was an NDT technician at the time. After his career with the Tulsa ANG, he was a long-time leader of TANGRA while being a devoted family man and very proud parent. We surely will miss you, Jack.

It is with great sadness that we have lost another one of our retirees from 138th.
Jack Edward Ellison, 84, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on June 30, 2023. He was born on November 9, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Bonham and Edna Ellison, He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Floral Haven Rose Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
